i considered the j32 swap a while ago, even before the swap was popular.i researched a long time and came to the conclusion that it would really just be a “yea, i did it” mod. the weight of the j32 in a g2 would make it great in a straight line, but would handle for poop. kinda like the k-series swap. thus losing the fun that is a g2 integra.
i still wanted the v6 swap though. sooooooo, i started looking into this…
my plan was to use a g3 front clip in the rear of a g2 while using a j32 for propulsion, kinda like poor mans nsx. it was already known that it was gonna be used as a track car, so all of the ancillary items like a/c, heat, p/s would be thrown out the window. i drew up all the plans, talked to a couple of my engineering friends for some ideas and came right up to starting the build. money was really the only thing that stoped me from diving into a project like this.
i am picking up my j32a2 on monday and i will start to put it in my db1 when i have everything that i need so in april i will start a build thread and put it in my car and the j32a2 with tranny only ways 100 pounds more than are b18s plus you get 6 gears lol… and i have done all my research and i know what i need to do it and rpm in the j32a.com forums has been a big help… the only thing that is hard is the wiring of the harness and rpm makes them and he has put a j32a in a da and he is the only one that has so hopefully ill be number two… if no one beats me to it… its only going to cost me about 2800 dollars
Sounds interesting. I might have another DA laying around shortly. I need to rebuild its transmission, engine, and suspension. A V6 Swap might be fun to do if I ever get the time. Post pics if you find one. I would like to study their setup. I’ve seen the 3rd gens with J32 but none of the second gens.
