If you have a JDM B16a what do you tell the honda dealership your engine is when ordering parts? Like a 93 Del Sol SI? I believe my engine is a 91.
the del sol si uses the d16 vtec the del sol VTEC i believe is the b16a3 sol. here u go brotha http://www.geocities.com/renejeddore/delsol/specs.htm
what are you trying to purchase? I think you mean you have a JDM b16a out of an obd0 88-91 honda ?? is that right? it’s gonna depend on what you’re needing to purchase. For instance, anything ignition related is going to be different than any obd1 equipped b16a over here in the states. Let us know what you’re looking to get

I had my engine rebuilt not about a year ago and the guy screwed me and didn’t do the valve guides and seals. I’m looking for these. Thanks!
And yes it is OBD0 88-91 JDM B16a
I’ve been quoted $500 to fix this or I could just pay $685 and get a brand new SIR2 Head which has better cams and a better intake manifold. But are there any issues putting a OBD1 or 2 head on a OBD0 block?

Nope, OBD issues don’t deal with the block. If you want to use the OBD-II B16A head all you need to do is just reuse your distributor and injectors.
I don’t mean to butt in on the post, but I’ve tried looking for a distributor cap and I can’t seem to find the right one. I found one that was close but off by one stupid little piece. My distributor has a little metal piece that sticks out and the one I bought doesn’t have the groove for it. The one I got was for a 88-91 civic. Any suggestions? Should I just melt/cut a groove to make it fit? Is it me or do the people that work at the Honda places not know ANYTHING about Hondas?
Distributor should fit perfectly…i wouldn’t want to bolt that cap on, just for safety’s sake. Which distributor do you have?
ps. damn your times are the same as mine, but diff engine
15.59…which track is that at?
The cap doesn’t fit and I’ve checked two others. I checked the new SI (obviously won’t, bigger different design and I think it’s OBD II) and I checked for the 92-93 GSR, that one was off too. I think I’ll check Walnut auto, they had my waterpump.
That was at Fontana in like July I think. That was my quickest run of the day. I’m quicker now though. Not by much, probably lower 15’s. I’ll break into the 14’s shortly. Or into the 13’s in a while, whenever my bank account makes up my mind. ![]()

Distributor cap for JDM B16A is from a 1991 Integra.
Can I use the Sir2 exhaust manifold?? Are there any vacuum lines that need to be teed off or anything like that???
