How do I know if my wheel bearing is bad. Sometime during corning I hear a humming sound. It doesnn’t even have to be a hard corner either. I remember someone saying to jack the car up and see if there is any play in the wheel. I tried that no play. Guess I’ll have to remove the wheel and actually look.
Usually when a wheel bearing is going bad it will make a noise going one way but if you turn the wheel it will stop. To check raise the car and grasp the wheel at the 12 and 6 o’clock position and wiggle it. If it moves any look and see if the ball joint is ok. If its alright then its the bearing.
