where to go to get replacement antenna

where can i go to get a stock, replacement antenna? does anyone ship them because there is not a honda dealership anywhere near me (it’d probably be expensive there anyway)

My antenna broke also…those powered antennas on Hondas always seem to break. The way I fixed it was by getting a generic antenna that was about the same size as the stock one (although it is a liitle fatter). You can get this from almost any automotive store (I bought mine from Pep Boys…it was meant for a Nissan Altima, but it still fit). I didn’t bother trying to fix the antenna motor b/c that would cost too much. The only bad thing is that your antenna will always be up. The good thing is that my radio reception is the same as when I had my stock antenna.

i just got a s2000 antenna mast and mounted it like the tip in www.bseries.net

yeah thats another thing im glad you brought up, how do you know for sure whether or not the motors broken? mine makes noise and will move the antenna a little bit but only until it hits the bent part so im guessing it still works; but by using it like that for so long have i possibly broken it?

My brother’s 92 Prelude had the same problem as yours…and the motor eventually died out. My problem was that my antenna would not retract in or out…the motor for it was broken. How did I know?..I knew b/c I didn’t even hear the antenna motor operating when I turned the ignition on.

you think it would not be good if i took out the antenna i have in right now (its pathetic, ill post a pic) and just left it like that until i bought a new one? (like a couple weeks)? what if i got something to cover the hole and put the silver cap thing on?

little help? i just dont want to also have to replace the motor but that shits too ugly to leave till i replace the antenna (which i dont ever use anyway)

how much did you pay for it?

well mine broke about 5 months a go so i went to acura and got the new power antenna and the tool to take that metal cap off. Well the tool didnt even work and just screwed up the cap so now i cant get it off. So now i just said F# it. I havent listened to the radio sense then and im planning on just shaving the antenna cap piece off when i do body work to my car this spring. Then im gonna get one of these hidden antennas ( http://www.autoloc.com/detail.lasso?itemid=hab ) and put it ware the power antenna motor is. The reception probley wont be as good as stock but I dont listen to the radio that much anyways.

tight, im pullin that little noisy bitch

antenna

dont go to a dealer it will cost you like 200dollars cus i checked at a acura dealer by my house. but if you want an antenna go to a Autozone if you have one near your house it’ll cost you like 50 bucks. but if you dont have one go in ebay they have tons of them on there. so there you go.

I would replace the mast(antenae)ASAP if you hear it grinding and putting WD40 on the mast to lubricate it doesn’t help.If you do not replace the mast you will strip the gears in the motor. What I did was found an old legend power antenae for 20 bucks.Alot of the parts especially the gears are identical. It took 2 antenaes to make one good one.BTW to remove the locking screw for the antenae what my freind and I did was we each had a light hammer and a large flat head screw driver and a couple of shop rags.We put the screwdrivers with the rags on the tips of the blades to cushin the blows in the indentations on the screw after acouple of synchronized taps it came loose. No damage at all.

its straight messed up…looks pathetic. so if i turn on the radio (to where the antenna should be “out”) then pull that thing that used to be my antenna out, then turn off the radio and uplug the power antenna wire from the back, could i leave it like that for a week or so (until i buy a new antenna)?

ttt

Go to thepartsbin.com and look it up they sell it for 36.88 i believe and pick up something else you need whiile your there because purchases over 50 dollars get free shipping.

s2k antenna’s rule…I’m switchin mine out as soon as I get a chance to hit the dealership. :burnout:

If you pop out the inner panel in the hatch where the antenae is then just unplug the motor .You can get your hands in there no problem. It might be a bit tight but once you unplug the motor you can still get pretty good reception on the radio and avoid that unwanted I NEED VIAGRA look.

My antenna was broken for a long time. I had my car in the shop for some body work and when they were done and I picked up my teg I noticed that they broke the entire antenna off at the base. I told the guy and he said that someone must have accidently bumbed into it. He ordered me a new one and said that it had to come from Japan. In 2 weeks I went back and got my free antenna installed.

is there good reception on the s2k antenna’s and also when i install it is it alright to do wut the guy above me in this thread did by just unplugging it?!?!?!? thanks, peace

by it i mean the power antenna’s motor…u see the thing i want out of my antenna is an s2k looking one with good reception and easy installation, please tell me how long it takes and like if its alright to simply unplug the power antenna’s motor if i get one like the s2k where it doesnt need to go up and down…thanks all
