will this work since im doin a b20 swap?

well i tried a search and didnt really find anything on this paticular question i have. I found this on NOPI http://www.nopionline.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=dsplargepic&vpic=LJacksonSupercharger.jpg

its for the 99+ crv’s i have a b20z going under the hood. im wonderin if it will clear the hood line or more so fit and not have to reroute anything i.e…master cylinder ect ect… let me know fellas

I think it’ll clear the hood just fine. But I think you’ll have firewall clearence issues. Ofcourse thats not 100% accurate since I’m just going by looks. Just order it, if it doesn’t fit, send it back

thanks Formz:) I would like to order it to find out but it is a large chunk of $$$. i mena pretty much after this swap is done im gonna be broke:bawl: but for the future its somthin for me to think about. I wonder if anyone out there has done it or knows someone who has done it?

about the b20

the b 20 will fit with no clearance issues mainly because the b18 and b20 block are identicle. the difference is the bore of the sleeves…ones bored 81 mil. which gives you the 1.8 liter setting…the b20 is bored 84 mil…and the 2.0 liter setting…the rod length and stroke are also identicle…during your swap you should use your stock intake manifold from the b18 because it has better flow characteristics and not only that…looks better than that of the b20…also if you have a header it should also work…all the wiring should match up and your distributer from your motor is the one your going to need…because the b20 is an obd 2 and yours is pre obd.hope this helps…if you need any more info feel free to email me…

umm i think he was checking if the supercharger he posted would fit with the b20 under the hood. the b20 under the hood means nothing about this since its externally identical the answer still remains if that kit will work in a DA.

ok now i know he wants a jackson charger…wasnt sure which on…hood clearance should not be an issue because the intake manifold sits at an identincle hight on this particular charger…unlike the prelude which is raised slightly…so to totally answer the question…he should have no issues…

i believe the problem isnt hood clearance but firewall clearance. i dont know if its shorter or what. it is a interesting design though.

fire wall clearance shouldnt be much of an issue…its not much deeper then the intake manifold…maybe an inch

i remember something about the pulleys not clearing right. Any more from you all on this- i cant remember the specifics.

the only pully clearance issue might be with the side of the engine bay…but that shouldnt be much of an issue…because there is good amount of room there. hope this helps

well i remember a while ago someone sayin somthin about the master cylinder. thinkin it may get in the way of the pulleys. I was just wondering if anyone knows for sure. I had a buddy put one on his 95 gsr and it fits fine but then agian its a 95 he did it in. as for manifold i adlready have a skunk2 and a dc header and new 6 puck spring clutch and catback exhaust. i found this jackson s/c while i was lookin for cams and was wondering if anyone with a b20 or even b18a has done a jackson superchager. I know most guys say “go turbo” but turbo is good for drag and not for autocross or track…or so ive heard. Thats why i decided to go b20 all motor or s/c. hope that clears a few things. and thanks for all the replies fellas.

well if you go with the jackson charger your skunk 2 im goes byebye, also the one good thing about a charger is you get boost off idle…the bad thing…full boost doesnt kick in until about 5 grand on an ls, thats why turbos are a more popular choice, plus there more readily available to make more power. with a charger you can get a smaller pully…but thats about it…once you get the smallest one…your done…turbos you can build and produce more boost. also the issue with the master cylinder in a 95 is a clutch master cylinder,we dont have those…cable remember…so once again…shouldnt be an issue. besides teh pully on the charger sits low and on the timing belt side of the charger, mainly out of the way…so definately shouldnt have any issues with this…hope this helped

true about the skunk2, I had it on my b18a and was just gonna swap it over. who knows if i get the s/c ill most likely sell it. anyhow thanks for the info wamda. and eveybody else  ill keep it all in mind. if anyone else has anymore ideas please share them

The JRSC isn’t going to clear the master cylinder in a G2 unless you tilt the engine back and down which is absolutely stupid to do.

I would rather invest in a Vortech kit. Although the two behave like a Ying-Yang.

Two totally different and a turbo falls in between them.

Joe

Thank you Joe that is the bit of info i was looking for. I know i heard about that before but i wasnt sure on the same since i was doin the swap. The other reason for not goin turbo is becuse i live in a california and the smog (as most people know) sucks here and i dont know anyone around here who will hook me up even if i did have the $$$. and i dont know if vortech makes one for an LS block yet ive only seen the vtech. But thank you again you helped alot.
