Wilwood Billet Dynalite Caliper Brake Pad Review

Alright, I’m now on another set of street pads, and these are by far the best all around pad I’ve used so far. The old T’s were about done, so I decided to go with…

Wilwood Q’s - These are a ceramic pad as opposed to the full metallic D or E and the clutch material on the T. Initial bite is very good, even when cold. They are extremely easy to modulate and give a firm, reassuring feel to the brakes that was lacking with the T’s. And best of all, no noise! These things are remarkably quiet at all temperatures and in all stopping situations.

All in all, the performance is on par with the D/E’s and might even approach my Cobalt GTS. I’m very satisfied with this pad and I look forward to running a few laps with them at PIR later this month to really see what they’re made off…

I have run the Q’s in the new Forged dyna lites… they are quite good, not been to the track though to test them over the long haul. I would say not quite as agressive as the ferrodo’s I had run before, but very near so

The Wilwood T-compounds must be the worse pad made for a performance caliper. The wet weather initial bite is horrible because for the first few critical seconds, you have no brakes!

I switched to the HAWK HP+ compounds which were my favorite pads when I had OEM calipers. I’d rank these up with the Wilwood D-compounds in performance and I think they’re quieter. They do dust more than the D’s but the dust isn’t as bad as the Black compound pads.
