Wire Harness Rebuild

I actually think you should be ok still using that manual, but give a second and I’ll see if I can find another copy that 90-91. And I thought Texas was 3 hrs. behind Ohio.

no sir we are central standard. and i hope this one will work so i can start on this weekend i mainly want to do the seatbelt bullshit and the ac bull shit and the abs and power steering bullshit i wanna keep my radio and speakers. and power windows and locks.

I have to drop the tank too and wire up a fuel cell… unless someone knows where i can get a tank for a good price? car has been sittin with half tank since 02

You can just drop the tank and flush it out, so you don’t have to buy a fuel cell. Unless that’s your excuse with the misses ;). But the seatbelt harness, ABS harnesses and all that good stuff are in the rear harness. But I am keeping my speakers and power locks and windows as well. Lol I do plan on driving my Teg daily as well.

flush it out how? i live by the gulf where it is humid all the time im worried i wont be able to get the moisture out of it and then im screwed. and i dont have to worry bout the missus its the damn lack of funds i have to worry about lol.

any updates? i havent had time to even touch my car :frowning:

I’ve done a little bit of work to it, but I’ve been holding out until you get your stuff together.

As for flushing it out all you have to do is drop it, flush it with water (I even think there are a couple of solvents available just for this) let it dry, and put it back on.

work has kept me busy i couldnt even touch it i got to clear out the inside last night (i had all my body parts from the front end and spare parts piled in the car) so next time i get a cahnce i can pull the seats and panels (front seats are already out) and the dash.

well i got the interior and the dash out last weekend this weekned has been like 115 in the shade it feels like so i left the car alone and worked on the block in the comfort of my AC lol hopefully this week I will start removing harness

Sounds good. Keep me updated.

Looking good. I’m eager to see the finished project.

Nice progress man… its always cool to see someone go to town on a wiring harness. I thought about doing some tucking on mine while my motor was out… then I came to reality and accepted the fact that I hate dealing with wires. I simply de-loomed the factory harness, got rid of much of the brackets and plastic ‘cases’ and stuff, then re-loomed with some fresh electrical tape and called it a day. It did look a bit better than stock, but it looked nowhere near what yours will I’m sure.

Maybe one day I’ll get brave enough to remove all the wires being unused in my harness… but until then I’ll keep it as is. Props man. I’m interested to see the final outcome.

Honestly I thought the same thing. I’m more mechanical work then wiring, but it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. Once you get into a groove it actually seems kind of simple. Lol we’ll see when stuff doesn’t work anymore. Thanks for the support guys!!

this is simply frightening, horrifying.

quite the project, that is for sure.
