hey guys w/ ls/vtec, i am running 91 block with 95 gsr head. PR3 ecu, i am about to drop it into the car. i need to wire up the vtec solenoid and vtec oil pressure sensor. question is, which wires do i tap them into coming out of the ecu. i’ve been told something like A5, and B8, but i am not sure which plug this cooresponds to. green plug or black plug?

download and read the vtec swap guide and the vtec ecu pinouts sheet. Then go do a search. There was a post awhile back, i believe about wiring up a b16a, in which dan went through and explained quite well how to do the wiring. This post may even be in the archived forum.

sorry dude, i am dumb tonight, where do i find this pinout sheet? i tried the archives but couldnt get anything for ls/vtec swap guide. can you point me in the right direction? thanks,

its not an “ls/vtec” swap guide. its a vtec swap guide. But it doesn’t matter. Just treat your ls/vtec just like a vtec swap… just pay attention to which head you use. and its in the TEG TIPS, not the archives. however there should be a thread about wiring up a b16a (how exactly to run the wires and what not)… it may or may not be in the archives.

thus, if you are using a b16a head, it will be like swapping in a b16a. If you use a b18c1 head, it will be like swapping in a b18c, and so on.

i got the ecu pinout sheet. those pins coorespond to a p61 or p72, no?? i am sort of confused, i have a 95 gsr vtec head, does that mean i will use the pinouts for a 95 gsr ecu? i ask because i am not using that ecu, rather a PR3 that has been prog’d for ls/vtec.
ahhhhh!!! i wish this was easier!!!

well, well, well… just saw the new sport compact car, and guess what it has???ecu pin-out locations for a PR3!!! just what i needed!!!good thing i checked in there , cuz they were not where i thought they were going to be.
anyways, thanks for all the input guys, she is going to be fired up by next weekend!!!
