Options on springs. Need FEEDBACK

Yes, i rather have coils i know, but money is tight especially in school. I’m looking at getting springs, i want a pretty good drop 1.75 all around or something close and decent ride quality. I’ve looked into Blox, Skunk 2, Tanabe, and Tein springs. based on those you can assume what my price range is. what would be best? if anyone has pics with any of those springs it would be helpful so i can get an idea of how it will look. thanks again.

if you are planning on lowering on stock shocks then youre making a poor decision. you will blow your shocks and you will have a much bigger and more expensive problem on your hands.

if you are planning on lowering on some nice aftermarket shocks then i would look into a coilover sleeve instead but you asked about a spring sooooooo… i guess thats what you want.

as far as getting an almost 2in drop from a spring then maybe skunk2 may have what you need. h&r makes some pretty low springs. the fastest way to find out is to go on ebay and search for lowering springs for our cars. 90% of the time the specs of the spring are listed in the ad and if not, the part number is. it saves you from having to go to each individual manufacturers website by doing it this way.

honestly, if money is tight because of school i dont think lowering springs are something that should be on your to-do list. youre an adult though, you do what you want… im just sayin…

i have kyb shocks sitting at home. should have mentioned that (facepalm) lol. I have looked into coilover sleeves such as megan. but i was just looking for anyone who has experience with these springs or any suggestions and on what to do to be lowered with a decent drive cause its my daily.

cool… use the kyb’s then. snoogle around on ebay for springs to find what brands even make springs in that range and then go from there. keep in mind buying used is usually your best option when it comes to stuff like this.

one thing i can say about the h and s techs from tein is that a lot of people say they are too soft. like… way to soft. i know tein has pictures on their website of cars with the springs installed so you can see how low the car will sit. just go to the product page

I have tien s tech spring ride is GOOD for springs that is and i am on stock shocks they are just now going out after 1 year so im debating getting new shocks or getting coils idk what to do, heres what the s.techs look like

Ive had s tech tein springs with hps for almost a year and a half now, they ride nice for a daily.

are those coilovers the basics or street basis? or ss of flex? haha I’m trying to get an idea on the coilovers I might want. how do you like them?

They are Super Street coilovers with pillow ball mounts. I like then but I will be selling these and going stiffer.

Back from the dead!!LOL

Hey man wondering if your still on this set up and if so you still like it???
It’s looks perfect to me as far as drop…Perrrfect in imo.I would be leaning towards a lighter spring rate prob 350/250 though your thoughts on lower rate as compared to yours??hope you get this Peace.

I’m also on tein s tech springs with stock struts. The ride is decent. The stock struts definitely aren’t made for lowering. These will do for now until I can pick up a good coilover kit. I’m probably going to go with the skunk2 pro s v2. Good quality for the price imo. Here’s a shot of how mine sits.

I believe GC’s off the shelf rates are 380/250 if you don’t specify a custom rate when ordering. I had those on a DA w/illuminas a long time ago. They were OK, but didn’t handle as good as I wanted. The ride was OK though.

Through many other suspestion setups I settled on my current setup which is Illuminas on Skunk2 sleeves. (550f/450f) and I love them. They feel much more comfortable than the 460f/350r H&Rs I had before and handle far better.

The illuminas give you a very nice adjustment all around if racing or daily driving, however the spring plays a large part in that.
