zex dry kit

quick question…yes or no on a dry kit for 250bux canadian…i have abosolutely no mods done other then full exhaust and intake and im aware of what nitrous does to motors :naughty: haha…life expectansy on runnin the bottle 3 times a week on 160km? any horror stories??

yeah go for it but i would onlt hit it with a 55 shot until you get some fuel upgrades

Just remember to take the proper precautions when spraying such as plugs and timing and fuel.

k sounds good…and is it worth it to heat the bottle? doesnt come with a bottle warmer…do spark plugs matter too…like zex makes there own, should i get those ones?

Definately get a bottle heater & purge kit. as for the plugs…I’ve heard the ZEX plugs kinda suck ass, i got Bosch Platinum+4 plugs, because they run at a lower heat range due to the heat being dispersed more throughout the 4 ground straps. that setup’s ran just fine for me & my motor’s running on stock internals w/ 170k miles. also, I am running a Walbro 255 lph fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, new fuel filter, and I also have an MSD digital SCI ignition box. if you wanna step up to a 65 shot, i definately recommend a walbro pump & new filter.

Do not use platinum plugs with N2O. Use cheapass copper plugs. As for the heater, the bottle requires 95 degrees F in order to maintain 1100psi. If you are running a full bottle in 40 degree weather with a 50 shot then you will be lucky if you get a 30 shot out of it.

hmmm , one person says use platinum and one person says dont…the guy im gettin the kit from says that he only has one nozzle and tis for a 60 shot, but i dont think zex came with a 60 shot just 55,65,75? im not sure he quite knows how much it is from the one he has, but would i be ok to run a 65 if thats what it is? or should i buy another smaller nozzle. does anyone have pics of there setup? :slight_smile: thanx

Look here’s the deal. Use platinum at your own risk. I was running the Zex kit with the 55hp shot instaled on 155k miles with the Bosch platinum’s. I only had an intake at the time. The car ran great with no problems. Just treat it nice. The problem with the platinum’s is they tend to overheat with nitrous oxide, which in turn decreases their life expectancy. I eventually switched to the NGK’s that ran 2 degrees cooler than stock. However, I still never had a problem with the platinums. I ran this setup for over a year.

Only thing is that you’ll need to upgrade to either an aftermarket heavy duty or stage 1 clutch as yours probably has quite a few miles on it. Spraying in third gear at WOT made mine begin to slip. If you plan on running with the 65 or 75 then I would recommend what the others were saying reguarding fuel upgrades. And definately Heat that bottle!

Dont bother getting the purge valve, its just a waste of N2o. Dont just get any kid of plug, get some with at least 2 heat ranges colder. Also zex plugs as I have found are kind of hard to gap because of the 3 groundstrap’s have to be the exact same.

Run the cheapest copper plugs you can buy. Platinums are a waste of money and will burn out really fast.

i used the zex plugs on my car when i was spraying and never had a problem with them but a buddy of mine did i would go with the ngk 2 steps colder just to be on the safe side . i was runing a 65 shot with the following mods : dc sport header , hks hyper cat-back ,cold air intake , msd sci ignition and msd timing control , fuel pressure regulater ,and zex plugs and never had a problem . started cost to much and decide to go with turbo .

You dont need msd sci ignition , or a fuel pressure regulater

I mounted mine on a piece of wood, and bolted the wood to the floor. I can make one for you if you want, but its going to be press wood. I have installed this in my car and my sisters. It goes in the passanger side of the “trunk” in the part where it goes out. $25 and ill make for you and send it to you. But the bolts are up to you to get. Ill post a pic later.
