I fixed my factory setup lol. It would wig out with a cassette in it. Turned out to be the tiny belts for the motors that engage the drive and the head/pinch rollers. They were slipping and confusing the unit. Now it plays fine.
It’s a Light
Yup a very dim light. It gets broken a lot from what I’ve seen. I’ve been thinking about putting something else there in that slot but don’t know what.
how about a 3d printed basketball hoop that you can toss your G2IC antenna ball into lol

90s and 00s alt rock cassettes are way expensive. I want an Incubus tape to throw in the glovebox but not for 20 bucks…
I started wiring up the start system onto a relay yesterday. Turns out I need a connector which seems to not exist in any Sumitomo catalog for the clutch switch. But I can run on a relay without the switch if I just ground out the control wire destined for the switch. Not that it matters much since the poor car is sitting in it’s kennel right now.
I also disintegrated the clutch stopper and learned there was no stopper for the cruise control unit either so I need those.
I also also wired the relay up wrong on the power circuit. So I need to get back in there and figure out which starter wire is hot when key is on. Then I can wire the relay correctly and maybe make a write-up.
I have a dead subwoofer amplifier. I think it shorted when the ground cable was unexpectedly yanked out. Sigh. Hoping I can fix it because it even survived the cowl leak flood I had a few years ago.
Nope. It’s getting 12V but thinks it’s only getting 5V. You’ve been a good little amp Mr. Kicker.
Rest in piece o7
i guess you would keep yours in your car because you dont have an antenna D:
I am installing new bulbs for my switches ( heater, emergency, cruise ) They keep turn off is it due to the copper being faded?
Welcome @DA9PalmyBlue !
What do you mean “keep turning off”? Are they always dying when you turn your lights on? Are you talking about main “enabled” light?
Those little bulbs are finicky and I believe the replacements aren’t ideal either (at least in my experience).
The weird thing about these antenna balls is that I can’t find out how they attach. I assume most must be squishy so that antenna kinda force-fits on there. That would require a soft material to print. I’m not to that point yet. I can see a design that clamps on though. I’m already working on a screw-clamp feature for the sunvisor support, so that might be the way to go.
Ever since I installed the Neo wedge bulbs into my heater, cruise control, fog lights, and emergency lights, they don’t stay on unless I touch the bulb.
I’ve seen that happen if the wires aren’t pulled out enough so no contact is made. It’s definitely brand dependent. Try to use a pin or tiny screwdriver to pull the wires up above the plastic.
