gas weighs closer to 8lbs a gallon. So if you run less than a 1/4 tank you can save more wieght then you thought.
Ok, guys. im running horrible 60 footers … like 2.6 2.8, my launch sucks… I drop the clutch at 1500 with 28psi in the tires… still spinning like crazy and I have a mostly bone stock 1.8…
I need help on my launch… ive tried the letting it out at 4000 and releasing clutch slowly but im slower at the lights doing that… with my 1500 release I can get a constant average of 5.2 light times (I think thats right) but it has been over a year since ive been to the track… so once I get my teggy back running I will try to get better… ps my time was around 16.1 @ 89 mph
also when my teggy will be running I will have Thermal r&d exhaust and ARM intake on it…
This thread sucks so far. I’ll link you to a walk through I wrote on my other board. What’s the point of taking all the shit out of your car if you are just going to put it all back in when you are done? Then you’ll run around town telling people you run some 1/4 mile time, when you’ll never be able to run like that with the way you normally drive your car.
Here: It’s on the bottom of the first page.
do you guy think I’ll fail tech with my abs light on… damn thing when on at lunch today… I was planning on going to the track this week…
No, because the car won’t be on while they are checking it. I doubt they’ll even care, especially if your car is slow.
What? Who cares?
Then I might as well just go around telling people that I run tens. I mean, I don’t run tens right now, but all I need to do is put in a Dart block with forged internals, a full drag suspension set-up, gut the car, and convert to a tube chasis. Right now I’m running with full interior though.
You care, that’s who. One day, you’ll run into someone who runs the same time as you do, with a full interior, then when you race him, you’ll look like a major asshole. Go ahead I guess.
I don’t know what’s worse, the fact you use that logic to prove your point or the fact that you run around telling people what times you run. So, your point is that people should have drag race-prepped cars on the street?
You care, that’s who. One day, you’ll run into someone who runs the same time as you do, with a full interior, then when you race him, you’ll look like a major asshole. Go ahead I guess.
I sure will.
:bored:
What? I tell people my times without even thinking about it. I guess that’s because I don’t do organized street racing. I’ve got better things to do than fuck around with shit like that.
What? I tell people my times without even thinking about it.
And the people you tell will respect you less if you take out the spare tire/back seat/ etc. to make a few drag passes? What about someone using a dedicated set of wheels/tires/pads for autocross?
I won’t argue with that. Your comments regarding daily driving a car in its drag racing “form” had me a bit concerned, I’ll admit.
Oh, I see what the problem is here. You care whether or not people respect you for how fast your car is. I couldn’t care less. I went to the race track all last year for Club Clash running low 17’s. This year I’m running low 14’s with traps for low 13’s. I really couldn’t care less what people thought of me. In fact, I’d prefer that they think my car is stock, or that I’m a liar or something so I don’t attract as much attention. I LOVE my hubcaps.
…followed by…
As for me hunting for people’s respect, I don’t drag race…not that I see where you got that from anyway. I wouldn’t criticize someone for removing the rear seats to do so, however.
I was going to remove my passenger seat to drag race once, but only because the class was 13.99 and under, and my quickest time is a 14.004. But because of the high altitude, they changed the class to 15.49 and under.
I was just using that example because, well, because it was the perfect example. It’s like people asking me why I don’t drive my car to sea level to see what it will do there. I told them I didn’t care what it would do at sea level, because I don’t live there.
arent you curious, though? I know I am (about eddy) and I’m only up 2200ft.
Ben
Not really. I can’t even get my car to go as fast as it’s potential now. The rule of thumb is, at my altitude, N/A and supercharged cars lose about a second. Turbo cars, about a half a second.
I ran a best time of 16.9 at like 79 mph, so I figured that at sea level, it’d just be close to a 15.9.
i got a set of Hx wheels that i fit onto my DA …they have 195/60/14s azenis on them but im looking to get a set of 215 BFG g-forces for them from what i hear thats the widest i can go …but these wheels are light and they dont look to bad either …
p.s. who hear preloads there clutch when they launch …it works really well for me …
