1.8" or 2.0" drop?

I have 195/55/R15’s and I’d like to lower the car, which one should I go with? “I just want springs”

your question seems pretty simple enough, but still i’m confused. how low do you want to go, and are spring going to be your only mod? no shocks? how are the roads where you live?

TUCK 'EM !

personally i’d drop it around 3" (thats how low my car is – i also have 195-55-15’s).

but if its between 1.8" and 2" I’d definitely go w/ 2". I used to have a 2" drop in my car (progress sport springs) and i liked it until i got my new rims (the ones w/ the 195-55-15’s), w/ these rims/tires i just felt that i needed a more aggressive drop.

My front springs are broken on my car, so I was gonna just replace them with OEM, but it’s close to $200 CDN for acura springs. I found out I could get Neuspeed SofSport springs for $390 (after tax and shipping). That’s only a .75" drop which is ideal for this area (i live on gravel… and it’s winter half the year…). are the stock shocks okay for that? or do i need to replace them too?

Where abouts do you live, 90RioGS? If you’d like, I’ll sell you my OEM springs for $100. Let me know.

I live between Brandon and Winnipeg actually…
I’ll send you an email!

cspeed: I dont want to see the space between the fender and the tire. but I dont want the tire to hit the fender in bumps. where I live the roads are smooth. I dont want to spend too much money on the suspension, thats why I just want springs.

If that is your choice then go with the 2.0 drop. If I were you I would do 2.5 drop better. And your tires seem to be a little too big. If you had 50 series it would be perfect. Yes your ride would still be very good. My car is at around 2.5 sitting on 14’s with stock shocks and ST springs (which has been cut 2 times) and its still great for over 3 years on my ride.
