Saw this link on a local sports car club forum and was suprised that it had a cage for our DAs:

Meets all the requirements for me to get into hillclimbs if I get one.

Is that a good price?
It would be hard to get the tube for that forget about bending it.
I just paid $200 for a JD Squared bender and then another $290 for a 1.75" tube die for it. I still need a stand for it and will even then be using arm power to bend instead of hydro power (~ $1200 more). My notcher was another $200.
Metal prices are high right now as well. Probably (depending on the type for tube) $2.50 (HREW)-$7.00/ft (CroMo DOM).
Even though you have to do the install I would say that is a very fair price.
EDIT: Here are some recent (Feb 2nd) prices from New England:
Order is in, I’ll be picking it up Monday. Prices are as follows:
1.75x.120 DOM 2.85/ft
1.75x.120 HREW 1.95/ft
1x.120 HREW 1.25/ft
1.5x.120 HREW 1.92/ft
1.5x.250 DOM 5.06/ft
1.25x.120 DOM 2.18/ft
1.5x.120 DOM 2.49/ft
Don’t forget to add MA 5% sales tax. There was also a $9 energy surcharge added to the order that I’ll pick up. Please arrange to pick your tube up as soon as possible. One note on the 1.75x120 DOM - lengths run 24-25 feet, so I had them do the order based on length and not on stick count.
A ten point cage will put you in a mod class in SCCA. 8 point maxium in SM, after that you have to play with the bigboys.
You can never have enough cage for hillclimb though. Ive seen people leave the road numorous times at hillclimbs, most turned out ok, some were very lucky they had a sufficient cage.
BTW, thats a awesome price. We charge 100 bucks a point for custom cages here.
i want a 8 pint do u think it would protect me god forbid i did roll and how the hell would i get it in my teg does it come in sections ???
It’s a weld in kit…
To get a full weld you either:
Punch holes in the floor, lower the cage, weld, raise, plate the floor
or
cut the roof off. :worry: and weld it up then weld the top back on.
I like cutting the floor personally as I can’t weld sheet metal too well.
There may be other options, but I do not know them.
very nice

So 6 point cage is $600 and an 8 point cage is $800? That’s awesome, my next car might be headed toward Idaho.
For those planning on any sort of road racing activity note that this is a drag cage and the rules for SCCA and NASA are far different. If you insist on a kit use autopower or Kirk racing.
That kit meets the requirements for the VT Sports Car Club Hillclimbs.
As long as it works for what you want to do that’s cool. People interested in SCCA or NASA activities should note the absense of a diagnal brace in the main hoop.
That would be the only addition necessary?
I’m not really sure beyond that. There are specific rules on the rear main hoop supports and such. The only research I did for mine was finding a reputable builder.
