Is this with a G3 GSR engine. What mods do you have done?

keep knockin off them tenth’s they add up. are you getting good traction? what are you launching at? 60ft is a little high still, work on your launch. launch is half the race.

Thats about it.

Car was launched from 3.5-4k. Slipped the clutch, but I still couldnt get traction. Tires were Kumho V700 Road race Tires set at 18 psi.

are you getting a lot of wheel hop? Stock YS1 trans? LSD and traction bars makes a world of difference.

It is a stock GSR YS1 with no LSD.

No wheel hop. Just bad launches i guess…

i never heard of a g2 wheel hopping. they generally just spin. even before lsd i would throw a set of slicks on a spare set of alloy wheels and give that a shot.

I had mad wheel hop when I dragged mine in Sac. Even got it on tape. You can here the announcer say “that what you call wheel hop folks” lol. I dont know much about the drag strips, but someone was sayin something about the track being extra sticky. I just did it because a few members went there after one of the local meets, and they kept bugging me to try it since Ive never dragged that car.

could be the springs you were running? i know g3’s are notorious for wheel hop.

im on stock shocks with vspec coil-overs

Seems like you should be getting mid 14’s with that setup. I think nervousness played a part. The more you stage, the more you get comfortable with it and your 60 ft’s come out better. Like KraZeTeggIE said"Launch is half the race". Try different launch points and see what works and what doesn’t. Try launching at a little lower RPM. It doesnt take long to hit your powerband in VTEC"H" with a short gear trans.

i ran my super bone stock 91 DA and got a 15.8. And these were on these cheap ass sumitomo tires that were gggggarbage… couldn’t believe it…!!

i agree above…

yea…

i was nervous!!!

Also you may try running the manufacturer recommended air pressure on the sidewall of your tires.(usually around 35 psi) lowering tire pressure is only effective on slicks. On radial tires if you lower the air pressure the tire will bow in the center which will give you less of a contact patch because it leaves only the outside tread of the tire in contact with the ground.

i hit 15.4 in my LS w/ a ys1 trans  come on danny all you need is good sticky tires (or be a big boy and get some full slicks), traction bar & seat time. its all good season is pretty much over and theres always next season. im prob going to take the motor in the crx and drop it in the DA next year so you can finally have the race you always wanted. DA vs DA hahah

that is all i ask for…:burnout:
