15.2 first time

Well, it was my first time at the track and my first run STANK!

I actually ran an 18.5… I did more things wrong than… well… lets just say it was a lot

I ran consistent 15.4’s and pulled off a 15.267 (or something like that) I’ll put specifics up soon.

I have a B20z, Comptech header, Skunk2 IM, AEM CAI, Thermal exhaust… I was hoping for a little better, but I am pretty happy

ay ideas on how to improve that? I have been told I’m probably running a little lean, so a fuel pressue regulator is in order.

what do you think?

that seems like an ok time…if your running lean i suggest a FPR and a high volume Fuel Rail (STR, AEM)…oh yeah, what is your 60ft time?

I don’t have the slips on me, but I recal it was around a 2.36

your sixty foot is little high. if you drop a tenth and a half or so then you dip into the fourteens.

Reaction: 0.653

I1: 2.345
I2: 6.697
I3: 9.826

ET: 15.268
MPH: 90.291

you got all the breathing mods, now you need to bump the compression and cam it.

I was just kind of hoping I culd get a lower ET with those mods… not a 14, but a 15.1… I guess it is possible… I just have to get those 60ft times down 0.2 seconds

thats a good time I think??? i would think you would be a lil faster but not good luck getting into the 14’s

what kid of car are u in

A 2003 chevy malibu.

Its a G2 forum, what do you THINK hes in?

haha

its a 92 LS, 2 door… just to be specific

CAMS, lighter flywheel, good clutch and a lil fuel work you can get in the 14s…

He doesn’t need all that shit to get a 14. Just get lower 60’s and enjoy your 14 sec timeslip. Or drive better. I thought I was a good driver, then one day I decided to try a little bit different technique and was able to take .2 off my time with the same 60’s I had always been getting.

what kinda 60’s are you getting stu? I assume they are slightly high due to the same problem I’m having…lack of traction.

what was your “different” technique

I’m certain I can get into the 14’s with what I’ve got… although my clutch is on the way out…

but cams are going in next year, so I guess I’ll never know

I bet with a new clutch you could get 14’s.

I just figured out that I was shifting slow. I basically, revved it up pretty high and let the wheels spin a lot. I’ve figured out that in torqueless Hondas, you should just let the wheels spin until you get traction and then you’ll be good. I also powershifted a little and it helped a whole lot.

stu, 60’s?

ok… and your best time to date is what?.. my cars been put up for almost 1 1/2 before i put it up it ran 14.6 all day with a 2.2 60’…im sure he doesn’t just wanna hit 14.99… he probably wants to go a little deeper… :hmm:

with my setup all I do want is a 14.99, but with the cams next year I want lower than a 14.7… I think thats pretty realistic
