Spring Break here. Cooler weather. I should really take a day off to do stuff.
We had a bit of a heat wave the past few days, so I refilled the AC in my wife’s teg. It’s barely blowing cold but the compressor and the fans are on. I’m thinking the compressor isn’t functioning quite right. I might have to bring it to a shop to prep for summer. :-/
Definitely ripped. Zero clue how to access the back two bolts holding the mount on but I’ll figure something out. Doesn’t seem like you can get at them from the engine bay.
From what the mechanic said, he was only able to get to it while it was on a lift (and thus, from underneath).
I agree with your guy. There’s space behind the subframe under the car to access the bolts but you need a low profile breaker bar or a looong 14mm box wrench. The problem is you need something that gets on the bolt and allows the handle to slope down towards the floor. My 14mm was the only tool I could get on the bolts but it’s too stubby to get leverage to break them loose.
Its coilover time for me and im trying to decide as ill be purchasing in two weeks. Trying to narrow it down from 30 choices lol
Same here. Just had the AC recharged a month ago. Now AC can’t keep up in high 90s heat
. Probably a leak somewhere.
holy crap did it work from underneath?!
Yup I just had to muscle the two back bolts out, barely enough room with a 3/8 ratchet and 14mm socket. You can, in fact, get one of the back bolts and the front bolt from the engine bay with extensions. Got the motor mount thru-bolt out from the driver’s side wheel well and 24” of extensions.
But now my battery is dead this morning ![]()
I took my car for a drive and after I parked it, one of the fans (not sure which yet) stayed on. I cycled the key and it shut off but I’m guessing it came back on later after I walked away. Probably what drained my battery.
I’m wondering if I jostled the oil temp switch when I installed the pressure switch and now it’s mad. That switch can tell the condenser fan to run.
That’s also what I need to check, but I always get stuck doing something else.
