i’m getting 17x7’s in the front and 17x8’s in the rear–what is the best offset to get?
First, why the 8" in the back?
Anyways, I have 17x7.5 with a +40 offset. With 205/40-17’s I’m not rubbing. Anything wider than that I would be.
I like the way wide rims in the rear look I plan on getting VOLK F-Zero Callenge-the five spoke wheels- in white/blue. Do you have pics of yout TE-37’s. People with 18x8’s dont rub.
My 19 x 8s had a 45et and tucked no problem. How wide of a tire did you want to use?

I have SE37K’s and no, I don’t have pics. 18x8’s are fine if you get the right offset. I’m not sure there are 17x8 with a 100x4 patern that has the correct offset.
17x8… you could actually use a 245/45/17 if you wanted a BIG difference of size with the tires… the ford mustangs that come stock with 17x8 use the 245/45/17.
back in like 93 my friend DJ had 195/60/15 rear’s and 195/50/15 fronts… on a CRX lol… i think the bigger tire out back thing is pretty cool… but then you cant rotate them anymore, only side to side if anything. imo.
Thanks for your help guys!
Luciferi- I plan on going 225, 235, or maybe even 245. 45 series what ever i do, and 215 or 225/ 40 in the front, I’m not too worried about tucking but if I do that will be cool, I might put flares on the rear but I’m not sure yet.
How does this sound:
Front: 17x7 with +34 offset
Rear: 17x8 with +32 or +42?
The 17x7s come in- +34, +44, +50
The 17x8s come in- +22, +32, +42
Which offset should I get?
You will have to use 42 offset for the rear. The 32 will have quarter panel clearence issues.
If your planning on a 45 series tire for the rear, better not have the car very low or it will rub pretty bad. You should be running a 35 series with a 225 to keep overall diameter closer to stock. the 45 is over 3" bigger around than stock. It is the same as putting a 215/35-19 on there without the cool looking big wheel.
i will most likely roll my quarter panel or even put flares on the rear thanks for your help.
I will go with the 45 series because I am getting Advan Neova tires.
I will go with 40 series in the front though
18s slow you down?
By how much would 18’s slow your 0-60 and your 1/4mile time down?I have 215/35/18 on my car and peoples always saying that im slowing my car down…But it seems to me that my stock tires are bigger than my 18s because when i put them side by side my stocks are higher, tires are much thicker…I know the 18s are heavyer but not by much…
its not the size that slows you down its the weight.
the size may slow you down to some degree, but not enough to really even notice:werd:
