I have to change valve cover and replace the cam seal, b20b. Leaking alot of oil :open_mouth:

I just realized today that my valve cover paint is bubbling. Painting it isn’t a priority in the grand scheme of things though.

My valve cover is thrashed. Maybe I’ll paint it when I do my timing belt.

Also starting to wonder if my oil leak is from the breather box or the oil pressure sending unit.

I did plugs, wires, valve cover gasket, cap and a rotor over the weekend. Still have to finish the alarm and rewiring the system

Only 2 quarts recovered during most recent oil change. Oh man… :frowning: 3000 mi. Sigh.

I was able to do a little bit of garage cleanup yesterday. I have so many parts just strewn about. I need to reorganize a lot of things and catalog stuff that I have.

I hate when I have new parts and I’m thinking, “Why did I buy this again?” Ugh.

I re-secured my subwoofer amp via straps to the rear seat, which I’m very happy how it turned out. Because I removed the rear carpet, I used straps/buckles on the metal holes through the seat. I hate drilling into metal, so I was happy to use those. I also secured the 10” subwoofer box to the center seatbelt buckle, which doesn’t get used anyway.

Any idea where the missing oil is going?

No leaks. It’s a B20. Maybe I’m revving too much… automagically.

I just wouldn’t have expected that from full synthetic.

Possibly burning oil due to worn piston rings, bad valve seals, or a faulty PCV valve? Any black soot on your rear bumper? Losing 2 quarts of oil between oil changes is a lot

I have noticed that I smell oil burn after a short burst of high rpm… so maybe 4k to 6k RPM and I’ve come down from it. Perhaps there’s a leak that is hitting something hot but not able to hit the ground. The exhaust doesn’t appear to show it’s burning oil either – no smoke, no soot.
