Damnit, you guys make me hate my 195/50s that I just put on, but oh well I got them for too good of a deal (RE-01R 195/50)
dang theyre looking good… Not really feeling the high ride look but it still looks good.
Trust me, everyone isn’t feeling the height, but i love feeling it at the height it sits.
it’s usually a sacrifice between traction and tread life. the softer the compound, the better the traction, but faster wear. the temperature rating is a good indication of the compound/range of wear. the rating is ordered A, B, and C. with C generating the most amount of heat and A the least. a softer tire compound will not dissipate heat as well as a higher temp rated tire and thus will wear out faster. traction causes friction which causes heat. and heat causes deterioration.
i’ve got 50’s as well now. but they’re pretty much done in. anticipating going 55, as the ride is a little harsh…and low
Which tire brand/series are you looking at?
im reading my fat fives (15 inch) can use 195 or 205 with. would 55 series make the 205/55/15 a bad combo with a lowered car?
that would make your tires look super fat… its just really your prefference. I have 195-55-15 now so I might try 205-50-15 or the 205-55-15 next time around. Im not even sure you can find a cheap set of 205-55-15 for under $90 each, my 195-55-15 ran me about $75 each total $340 mounted and balanced including a hookup…
personally i prefer 205/50/15 over 195/55/15. here’s the best pic i have of mine at the moment. 195/50/15 shouldn’t even be considered for a teg.
yeah 195-50-15 is a lil small for a B series car, I can see them more on a smaller car like a EG/EK civic, rex, or EF with single slam engines.
