ok I tried looking this up and no luck.
I wanted to see pics of wheels with 195-55-15 on our cars. right now I have 195-50-15x7 with a 2 1/2" drop on skunk2 S type coil overs and want a lil more height or taller tires on my 15s to help raise my car. I know i can always adjust the height but then Ill end up with a fugly wheel gap…
wow they look pretty good and not that fat. Im not really a big fan of low profile tires since the only purpose they serve is at car shows, im more into function than looks. I know I can go bigger now and still keep a clean look.
IMO 195-55 is a MUCH better size for a DA than 195-50. 195-50 is just too damn tiny, I think it looks strange and puts the car lower to the ground while simultaneously increasing wheel well gap - bad combo IMO.
yeah 195-55 is great for daily driving in pretty much any condition or season, I like the 195-50 now but its just not cutting it for me on the highway since my speedo reads like 4 miles over my real speed. Any good tires you guys think I should look into. I want long tread life but still plan on taking the car to the track, Id need good traction.
it’s usually a sacrifice between traction and tread life. the softer the compound, the better the traction, but faster wear. the temperature rating is a good indication of the compound/range of wear. the rating is ordered A, B, and C. with C generating the most amount of heat and A the least. a softer tire compound will not dissipate heat as well as a higher temp rated tire and thus will wear out faster. traction causes friction which causes heat. and heat causes deterioration.
i’ve got 50’s as well now. but they’re pretty much done in. anticipating going 55, as the ride is a little harsh…and low
was doing some research and found some people go 205-55-15 for track and street, Im just looking for the widest tire I can put on my konigs 15x6.5. I have a 98 spec itr swap and do track it about twice a month. Any pics and what do you guys think?
OK I didnt want to do this but I blew a tire durring a 3hr trip and was forced to buy a bigger size since it was all the shop had, ended up getting 195-55-15 and they look way better than the skinny 50-15. Ill post a pic so people can compare and choose…
did you have 195-50-R15? if you did can i see some pics? I was thinking about getting 50 series tires but IDK. Instead of 195, I was also thinking about 205-50-R15. I currently have 195-55-r15 but they are currently worn out now.
