1991 clutch change

Hi all,
Looking to change the clutch, pressure plate and resurface flywheel. It is an all original, (bone stock), 1.8 L. This is just a clean daily driver with no plans for performance upgrades. I plan to use OEM clutch kit. The drivetrain has 150k miles. I plan to do the work myself. Since this is a pretty involved job, what are some things I should do while I’ve got things pulled apart? Any bearings, seals, springs, etc. I should change? I plan on driving this thing for many more years, so want to address everything that I should do.
Thanks,
James

Replace the axle seals and other 2 transmission seals and the rear min seal of the engine. Most of these can be bought as a kit on ebay. The transmission seals will be one kit and the rear main will be separate. The hardest part will be getting the pin out of the selector shaft. Use plenty of penetrating oil and give it time to soak in. If you don’t have the right tools this will be a hard job. I recommend that you buy or rent a pickle fork to separate the ball joints. You will also need a 32mm socket for the axle nuts ( buy replacements, don’t reuse the old ones). You will need a 12 point socket to remove the flywheel.

That’s why I like these boards! Thanks for the information…too much work to skimp out on the small stuff.
