hey guys so i have a 1991 db1 with b18b1 and its still obd1 and i have replaced 2 alternators since stock the first one i got through a site i use at my work and it was having a volatge regulator problems so i replaced it with another one from shucks and now when i turn the car on the battery light stays solid on i didnt touch any wires or anything like that and i just cant figure it out i have looked at everything i love the car runs strong when there is no problems before the stock one went bad there were no problems and now its all messing up i need help and some tips on what could be wrong
So it runs & starts fine the lights just on ? Have you tried clearing all the codes & resetting the ecu ?
How would i reset the ecu and yeah its just on solid doesny change someone told me that it coulf be my starter
Could be that or maybe it just saved the codes from the issue with the alternator before. Disconnect the negative battery cable & pulle the ecu fuse, just leave them like that for a while for all the info to clear then put them back & start the car, let it idle to operating temp.
Give it a try & if not maybe someone else can chime in & help out
Goodluck bro
So even though the batt. light stays on, the batt. is still charging?
If so, you may have a problem with the ICU, I will have to check wiring to be sure, but the ICUs are a problem on older Honda/Acura.
Other symptoms of a bad ICU are intermittent wipers not working properly, wiper park function not working properly, rear window defogger not working, warning chimes not working, [key still in ign., lights still on, seat belts not in use] and front side markers not working properly. 94
