1991 teg bumper repair pics

Hey peeps, I just happened to get into a little collision with the rear quarter panel of a 2004 mercedes. My fault, redlight seemed yellower than it did whenever I said “oh shit!, ABS dont fail me now!”.
For the most part they did a hell of a job slowing me down enough to cause no injuries to either myself or the other people who I hit. But my full coverage insurance was only offering me $1900 if I give them the car, or $1520 if I agree with their findings of my minor damage being enough to call it a total loss. So myself loving my car and pricing a new hood, bumper reinforcement, absorber, and cover, along with a set of sick ass one piece smoke grey/black headlights at a mere $610.82 with free shipping.
My auto shop was cool enough to let me get my own parts and not screw me with their price markup scheme they pull on the public. They quotes me a labor fee of $904 to replace the headlights, install and paint the bumper cover black along with the front turn signal assy for $904.00

The only damage to the front quarter panel is a slight bend downwars and the body damage shown in the pics.
So roughly they want $1409.01 for repairs , labor, and painting the cover black.
I love my acura so this is going down as soon as the parts arive at the shop.

So here is my question that I hope isnt too tough for anyone who knows to help me out with. Are the 1991 acura integra GS bumper the same as the acura LS bumper?

I would hope so but who knows?

Thanks and I’ll check back later today for a hopeful answer.

oh yeah, the car is completely drivable still as is. I just dont due to not wanting to have the dangling bumper cover shred my $90 tires.

Look’s like the bumper you have is 92-93. I am not really sure but I think it will work. You might have to do some modifications.

Im willing to bet there is more rad support damage than you actually think there is due to the pictures you have posted. you wont realy know how bad it is untill its stripped down.

As far as your question goes. the gs and ls bumpers are the same as long as you stay in the same year range. As bseries93 just mentioned. you have a 92-93 bumper, in order to make the 90-91 work you will need the bumper mounting blocks to go with it.

That is not exactly true. You need more info in order to figure out what he needs. Brackets, supports, covers and foam inserts are all different. :search:

He already stated in his first post that he was geting a new support and foam absorber with the bumper cover, So i assumed it was all from a 90-91

You could save your self some money, if you installed the headlights yourself. If you know how to change an oil, and oil filter, then you should be able to install your own headlights. I’m assuming the wires are plug and play. With the money you saved, from installing your own headlight, you could get some jdm side markers

I highly doubt the headlight is going to go back on right with the damage thats been done.

I will advise that you could most likely get the out of pocket cost down significantly if you strip the car down your self then have it fixed. even more if you put it back together yourself.

So for sure my bumper is a 92-93 and definitely not a stock 1991 gs bumper?

I ordered my stuff with paypal so there is a 2 day clearing period since I didnt give them my CC# over the phone and chose to order online with paypal.

Whats the major difference between the 91 and 92 bumpers? I assume the 92 is preferred since I’ve seen a few TEKs on switching up the two years.

I ordered the bumper reinforcement, absorber and cover all 91. I really did like my front end how it was, but anyone got a pic of what the 91 lacks over the 92?
Also the headlights on the drivers side aint just gonna slip into their original place without the very forewordmost tip of the quarterpanel being slightly bent up and either out or in depending upon which order they straighten the bent parts in.
Good looking out on the bumper year info for real. If I can still switch them up I will but only after I see the two side by side to make sure I’m not ok with the original bumper.
I’m off to look for bumper pics. thanks and anymore info will be kick ass helpful.
Thanks ,LJ

When i said you can install the headlights yourself, i was talking about after the shop finish it up. all you have to do is put them on in the parking lot. It wont take no longer then 10 min. if its plug and play.

Excellent pics. Given the choice I’d go with the 92-93 bumper but alas, they’ve confirmed and debited my account for the parts. Get this,

 1. New replacement 91 hood $262.94
 2. 91 front bumper reinforcement $105.51
 3. 91 front bumper absorber $39.43
 4. 91 front bumper cover $202.16
 5. 91 replacement head/foglight assembly $165.60

sub total = $775.64
CA sales tax = $30.77
shipping total = $0.00

grand total = $403.71

Now thats what I call a kickass discount. Especially when the insurance adjuster was saying that he was over $3000 for the parts alone. What a bunch of shit. I typed in 91 integra bumper into google and the 2nd site I clicked on gave me these guys that have killer prices, discounts, and no hassle return policy. Also the parts the adjuster was calling around and searching for online were all used or 2nd hand parts. What a racket insurance is. My full coverage wasnt anything close to being worth the price I have been paying for it. Word to the wise avoid Unitrin auto insurance and Geico sucks ass too. Then again I suppose all insurance carriers are slimebuckets when the accident is your fault.

I bet that there will be some kind of radiator damge thats just being hidden as someone said. It’s almost a done deal. But the auto wherehouse sells 91 replement radiators for $124.47 and up w/o the discount.
Anyways thanks again and if anyone ever need teg parts for a good price the auto wherehouse seems like the place to go.

What website did you go to? Id like to order my self the 92 bumper once summer starts.

go to certifit for cheap body parts

I got all of my front end body parts from them. The cheapest I found and seemed decent. $88 per fender, $95 for the hood and $113 for the bumper. I painted and put them on myself. Wayyyy cheaper than any shop could ever do. just my 2 cents I guess

they dont have the damn parts i need (Certifit.com), i need to get some driver side and pasanger side doors for my teg. dumbass who had it before shaved the doors and lost the key so he chizzled a door handle back in and it looks like complete shit so i want to get new doors. shaved handles is fukin rice. people tell me its a pain in the ass to get a door handle back in. does anyone know where i can get just the shell of a door for a 1991 acura integra ls 2dr

btw no disrespect but cooper zeons are not all that great.

Dont you mean Sorta-fit:D

ive seen many the parts from them that needed a little tweeking to get the to fit properly, just a heads up:)

unless u replace the rad support the stuff will never line up right…lights, bumper, and fenders

if i wouldve seen this thread ealier i couldve saved you alot of money. if you need the rad support when its stripped i can get them for 20 new bumpers with the jdm support for 40 new hood for 50 etc. but if needed i have the bumper support blocks for a 91 bumper if you need it. im in modesto btw so i can drop them off if needed

You need to replace that radiator support badly.

i bought a oem bumper cover and jdm impact bar(20lbs lighter than usdm) for 150.00 @ password jdm…and I pulled the core support with a chain and a sturdy post …good luck
