1992 GSR Alternator belt issue.. pls help!

So today my alternator belt snapped so i got a new one from the dealership… #31110-PR4-A05… but for some reason I’m having some issues putting it on. I can get it around the alternator but when it gets to the crank pulley. It won’t fit all the way around. I already adjusted the alternator to come as close as it can to the crank to give it some slack but i can’t get anything. NEED Help, could the reason be the crank pulley itself??..

anyone?? …

are you sure you that you have the alternator as far forward as it will go. its a pretty tight fit. try and get the belt on to a point where you can rotate the crank to get it to slide on the rest of the way.

Put it on the crank pulley first, then the alternator… might help.

Might want to spray some lube or WD40 into where the alternator top bolt goes; after all the years it gets tough to move. Make sure it’s all the way forward (use a large pry bar or something), and make sure your using the right spot on the crank pulley

finally fixed the problem thanks again for the help guys
