1997 MOTOR INTO my 1992 BODY STYLE! let me know something fellas!

If I am not mistakened the 1997 Motor is OBD-2 is it not? and my car is OBD-1 ! So what the hell am I suppose to do? Get a skunk2 jumper? different ECU, everyone was telling me its a straight drop in! is it not or what? Let me know someone…thanks

sorry…

1997 B18B is going into my 1992 body…its a B18B motor, LS

well i have a 96 motor in my 92 , any honda motor 1996-2000 is odb2 , the motor is a direct drop in all you have to do is u your 92 wiring harness obd1 instead of the 97 harness thats it not need to change the ecu or anything ,good luck

Just curious, why you swapping a B18A for a B18B? High mileage?

good question

Because the high mileage, and I already put $2200 into this 1997 motor. All motor/nos

I can’t leave the freakin DOHC non-VTEC motors, everyone tells, “Get the VTEC” “Its faster” etc etc…

But my friend aka. NSXBLUE crashed his car, we took his 1992 B18A motor out 112,000 on the odometer, put it into my friends 1988 CRX, and he is killing these cars as lists

2000 Honda Civic SI (1.6 DOHCVTEC)
1998 Honda Prelude SI (2.2 DOHCVTEC)
1992 Honda Civic Hatchback VX w/ (1.8 DOHCVTEC)
1991 Honda CRX w/ (JDM 1.6 DOHCVTEC)

Its amazing how much torque these motors have, I could never go B16 or B18 and lose all this torque…I just don’t know what I do without it…haahhaha

I like the B18A and the B18B motors…they have a lot of potential, people just down on them because they are not VTECs…
