1st gen wheel on 2gen

well ive been looking for a better steering wheel thats not so bulky like my current gs wheel with cruis control, and that doesnt take away the eom quality and look. so while i was walking around the salvage yard looking for rs brake lines i noticed some honda’s/acuras have some nice steering wheel’s and found a sweet 1gen teg wheel in mint condition. I figured it would keep the oem look and the integra family style. so with some minore adjustments i managed to make it work.
Its flater, lighter, and it lets me see the entire guages and buttons. what do you guys think?

washer needed to space the wheel and keep it from rubbing on hub.

this is where you add the washers shown above around the center bolt.

and last you dont have to but i did anyways, after placeing the steering wheel back on with the 3 washers I added one more on top and fasten the bolt down tight.

Looks better than the g2 steering wheel lol. I’ll do it.

Yea man, i kinda dig it. Nice moves.

wow. I like. So tell us how to make it fit.

Very cool!

kinda adds to the old skool look.

very late 80’s lol. It flows well with the interior of the car.

all you need is to add 3 big 16mm washers from home depo to keep it from rubbing on the hub, you actually just need 1 but i added two more. they just need to be big enough to fit around the center bolt for the steering wheel, ill post a pic of the washer and specs.

reason i added 3 washers is that if you noticed on the pics the steering wheel is flater and sits closer to the multifunction switchs, you only have about half inch of finger or nuckle space before you start to feel them while turning the wheel. so i added 3 and fixed it. now keep in mind that by adding any steering wheel thats not eom is going to change your comfort so with that in mind make a note that if you dont mind having the turn signal about 1 inch away from your nuckles then you should be fine.

updated pics of washers needed see above.

How does it cancel the turn signals with the washers?

it doesnt cancel the turn signals. the washers space the wheel furthur away from the turn signals. Just look at how close the wheel sits without the washers on the second pic…

I realize why you have the washers on there. I just wanted to know if you made the turn signals cancel again since the washers block the keyway.

I really like that. I think I like that better than the stock wheel! I might have to look into this little thing. I’m guessing the only downside to this is loosing cruise control?

I like it. Looks real clean.

im not sure if im understanding you or if you got the wrong idea of what i did.

All I did was added the washers on the center bolt the holds the sterring wheel. I didnt change or mod anything else. nothing was affected by adding the new wheel or washers.

Im not understandng your question about how what cancels the turn signals…

DAIntegra35…
It does eliminate the cruise control but I didt it anyways since I had already deleted/pulled mine out. And it cleaned up the engine bay a bit.
