2 Amps Hookup?

How can I hook up 2 amps without it killing the batt (1-mono d-class amp 1200wRSM/1-4channel 600watt)

How would I connect 2 dual coil subs to the mono amp? (wire in series? etc?)

i recommend you read the article i linked to in one of my other post, “Got Juice”. it’ll give you the basics on battery and alternator issues on mega watt systems. hopefully it will clear some things up for you.

as for your question on hooking them up, i recommend running 4 guage (+) cable from battery all the way to where the amps are mounted. ground the (-) cable to the chasis near the amps. split both + and - cables for the two amps with one side being 4g and the other 8g. you can either use a distribution block (4g in/4-8g out) or if you dont care about looks, just splice them and tape the connection up really good. for the 1000w feed the direct + and - cable into it. then for the 600w feed it the 8g + and - cables to it. and dont forget to put a main fuse with fuse holder about 12-15 inches from the battery on the + cable. fuse size should be total ampere draw of both amps. to estimate ampere draw: total amperes= total watts of all amps divided by the voltage(roughly 14volts). the article will tell you in detail if your charging system is up for it or not. and last, of course run your remote turn on and patch cables to each amp as well. HTH.

I would recommend buying a cap. It would help alot. I have three amps in my car and when the bass hits my headlights dim. It’s a good thing my amps aren’t powerful or else my alternator would be toast

Caps are totally useless and only put more load on your electrical system.

How can you eliminate the light dimming problem? Adamm are you saying cap wouldn’t solve that problem? I’m getting tired of having an instant disco lights in my car.
And to add to his question, how will you wire the 2 amps when you only have one pre-out? I only have one for my sub. What about for the other speaker?
