What’s the best oil to use for a 90 integra??? what’s the main diff between 5, and 10 w 30???

and…

will 2000 Integra Type-R Sturts and springs work on my 1990 Acura integra RS???

mobil 1

NO

10w30 is not recommended for temperatures below -10C I believe. 5w30 is good til about -40.

Some say that if you have a high mileage car/engine, then 10w30 would be alright, but like 90RioGS said, it is only good until a certain temperature, so in winter you should use 5w30. You can get away with using 10w30 in the summer though.
I dunno about the best oil to use, but if you change your oil regularly, then you should be fine using conventional oil.

I use Valvoline MaxLife 5W30 in my 90 teg with 210,000Kms. Works like a charm!

Yesterday I put in my stock 90 RS, Mobile 1 15 W 50 (Sudgested by a friend). Was that a good choice?

You guys that are dumping all that synthetic oil in there. Why is it necessary for daily driving? If you’re doing regual oil changes, conventional oil would be just fine. I live in Canada, it rains hard, snows hard, and in the summer we sometimes hit pretty hot days. I use 10w30 all year round it runs fine and I do my oil changes every 4,000 kms.

Did you notice a difference versus regular oil? What’s it supposed to do different? TIA

hasn’t really noticed a big difference, but the MaxLife oil is formulated to prevent oil burning and protect high mileage engines…

If you truly care about your car, I suggest you run some oil analysis. As for Valvoline MaxLife, I can tell you that their additive package contains Molybdenum, which is a very good anti-wear under extreme pressure additive - which is probably why you are getting good performance results. As for reliability results, that’s a different matter.

Stay tuned, I will be writing an article concerning this, which will supplement the Oil Analysis article that I’ve done. It should be an interesting debate.
