i just hope they don’t jack up the prices.
So you think the sidewall will be less stiff for drag racing? Probably not.
ya since theyre autox tires. falken doesnt even make a drag tire huh.
it says price should be up like 5 bucks or so.
LESS stiff. :tsk:
I hope not, these tires are not made for drag racing…
(thank god).
- Tread redesign to improve hydroplaning resistance. Said tread redesign
so maybe i can get a set and not have to worry about the raining season here up in sonoma county.
those are nice. but if they have a softer sidewall im sticking with my og azenis. and yuri theyre not that bad in the rain…
true.
unless you’re an idiot.
i know that but its rains a lot here during the winter and we actually have lots of puddles or standing water on narrow roads with ditches on the side, wouldn’t want to be posting something like “bye bye gsr RIP”. plus stupid wine country hicksville drivers don’t know how to drive in the rain. i swear one drop of water falls from the sky and there are like 10 accidents in a minute :worry:
I R wun
if its that bad, you should have a spare set of wheels. down here in socal its so rare we dont have to worry about it. however when it does, i wet my pants even when im going 45. any twitch in the rear would be the end of it im sure.
i dont understand, everyone gets all fussy about azenis in the rain. DONT PUSH IT! i was even stupid enough to test the limits of the azenis in rain, and unless youre really trying hard you’ll be fine. BUT…
Hydroplaning is what most azenis users worry about, i hydroplane alot on the freeway, i can feel the car sway back and forth. it definitely isnt fun especially when youre in a slow bend on the freeway. just dont drive like a idiot yuri, i know you dont because your driver sensor is broken.
wait did i just contradict myself??
why does everyone use the azenis on the street when they’re basically made for racing purposes?
why does falken sell them to the public? azenis sport are exactly what they are, sport tires for spirited driving. they arent even the best for competitive racing.
ok maybe i was making them out to be a little worse than they are. i have no problems running them, and obviously many others dont as well. when i mean twitch, i mean if my rear end was to suddenly come loose for some reason, it may be a lot harder to regain control, especially with my slight oversteer.
they are a DOT approved tire which means they are federally approved to run safely on the street, yet were customized to do well in autocross. they have water channels, just not as much as an all season you’re used to. they have soft compound for good grip, and stiff sidewalls for better cornering. thats pretty much it. it’s not like they are drag slicks with no water channels at all or anything.
remember, they were not optimized to be drag slicks (soft walls) nor high speed road course/track tires (resistant to high temps), they were designed for autocross (lower speed cornering), although they can handle the above up to a point very well.
i love mine.
i saw a pic of them on H-T …i want to know how they perform …i mite look into them …
i have and use them to autox with only. don’t they wear pretty quick? i mean i know they aren’t really soft but don’t they wear quicker than a normal all-season tire?
like water. hard to go back to anything less i guess.
