Got my new lower ball joints installed yesterday, and got the knuckles installed last night! I then, took it on a quick 5 mile test drive.
No weird noises and she handled great.
Did have some weird voltage inconsistencies with my new alternator, but I did seem to get it figured out.
It would idle at 12.4 volts, but as soon as my RPM’s went above idle, it’d charge to 14.3.
Adjusted the belt and all seems to be good, which is weird because the belt was tight… maybe too tight? Who knows.
Now it’s onto my next problem. My ALWAYS ON Radiator fan. I spec’d the fan timer unit and it all seems to be working fine, all my grounds are good and as far as I can tell the relay is doing what it should. So next thing on the list is to replace the coolant temp switch as it seems easier than any of the alternatives. Again looking for any recommendations if there’s any you guys swear by, but if not theres plenty to pick from online
Mine is always on too, but I prefer it always on to the alternative. It’s low on the totem pole for stuff that’s buggin me (But I’m also running a B20 which I believe has a different fan setup)
I agree with the temp switch first - go cheap. Or maybe you can run one of the troubleshooting tests on it first?
This is pretty smooth now. Need to prime it next.
I’m also working on a new version for the blower cover. I have one of the first prototypes made (i.e. old design) and I didn’t secure it as well I should have.
Nice blower cover ! still remember the raining days without the cover
Went to the junk yard yesterday and saw two DA as donor car RIP you’ll be missed, seems like everyone cut and removed the 40/40 proportion brake valve.
I see that brake valve gone A LOT. And usually “hastily” :-/ Sad to see the cars get hacked though.
