for starters im gonna buy this lip http://store1.yimg.com/I/yhst-21848157818613_1859_955198
(92-93 ABS type R lip incase the link dont work)
im just wondering how this is mounted. do you use the stock holes that held on the stock lip because if thats the case, all the places where the bolts where located for that are broken. - how do you go about mounting that.
my other question is should i even buy sideskirts or not. i personally dont really care but if i buy that lip is it going to look bad without sides. and if i buy these sides http://store1.yimg.com/I/yhst-21848157818613_1854_5007259
(2door mugen style skirts)
how do they mount- is there much modification needed?
hey i have never seen your car around before and you only live a few minutes away from me. we’ll have to get together sometime with some of the other many DA’s in the cincy/dayton area for a nice meet. we could get some pretty nice autumn pics and stuff too!
PS: go with the the sideskirts but if you do that, go with the rear lip too. otherwise it will make your car look funny in the back because your rear bumper will look like it sits WAY higher than the rest of your car.
Let me tell you, the ABS Type R lip was a bitch to put on. All the main bolts will bolt in fine, but you will have to get creative to put the side bolts in. When i had that lip, I had to custom make some brackets to hold the sides in place,
As far as side skirts, the abs type r lip would look great with wings west rs side skirts.
blueg2t - yeah deffantely i dont have my licens right now i get them back nov 5th so anytime then im deffanately down…
crazyseaman- thanks man… they dont have a rear lip for the 92-93 right now but there in the process of getting them made is the word on the street.
Blackturtle- Thanks man… rember i saw u down by the dayton mall once i used to drive the goldish DA with the fat 5s… then i blew the tranny out and got that gsr
I actually have wings west sideskirts to put on there getting painted as we speak along with my lip and mugen style rear bumper when that gets done ill hit you with some pics crazy
well for me, what i did was bolt up all the bolts in the center section of the lip on. After that, you will see the the corners of the lip “bow” out a little bit from the body. So, what I did was make a custom bracket that is hidden on the inside that connect the lip to the bumper. The bracket i used was an “L” bracket. Once you do that, you’ll see what I mean.
ah awsome… ive already got my stuff off the car and they are gettin painted now but its only 100 dollars a guy from my dads work does painting on the side… ill deffantely let you know thought i wanna get my hatch holes filled up once i get the spoiler off and get that sprayed so ill let you know deffantely thanks…
hey blackturtle, my brother and i might need our cars painted soon (i know he does for sure). his car is black (grenada i believe) and mine is saxony blue pearl. let us know a price for each car.
Those brackets are fine. You got a good lip if it came with them. (like me)
There is a hole on either side of the 92-93 bumper near the fender, underneath the bumper. They have little “lips” on either side of them. The brackets should mount in there. The holes should have those screw-into clips. Put the bracket on the lip first, then attach it.
As far as side skirts go, I finished installing mine last night. (DC2 94+ integra sides)
The aftermarket ones should have holes in the underside. Get a titanium bit & drill the pilot holes. insert screws. Holes should be on the front & rear ends of the skirts. Repeat process.
On the upper side of many skirts are tabs (or a lip) that go over your door threshold. Use screws, adhesive, or double-sided tape.
Use adhesive or tape on the portion of the skirts that will touch your body panels too. This will prevent sagging when it gets hot out.
