3 Integras, one man...

Hi my name is Cliff and here’s the run down: I have 3 Integras, and a whole slew of problems.

First is a 91 Ls, auto, Ive heard it all before trust me. But this was the first car I bought my self, and Id like to keep it for when I have a kid, its still a fun little car. Sadly the previous owner watched one too many movies and butchered an other wise nice car. Initially I was going to swap a new transmission in. But once I was in the engine bay. I saw that wasn’t the only problem I had. In order to assess the damage I’ve pulled everything from the fire wall forward. Primary goal is getting this car back on the road as my DD.

Next up is a completely stock donor to the above mentioned car. It runs, but just not very well. It doesn’t have all the little bits that you can never find at a scrap yard however. It was driven by a single mother with 3 teenage sons so the wear is definitely evident.

Finally my project is a 94 GSR great car that got ransacked by thieves. The engine, transmission, and all the other parts attached are gone from the engine bay. As well as the hatch being broken out. I have located a replacement transmission, but with out the rest of the components it just sits in my garage. I’d like to take my time and build this car back up the right way. instead of half assing it to get it on the road in a hurry.

I am here looking for knowledge, I don’t know nearly enough about these cars but I am trying to learn. I know full well the fate that awaits the ignorant. So when I post a question to which you feel the answer is so simple I must have been born yesterday, feel free to let me have it. Even the most insulting responses will carry some information that could prove useful. Also I am here to find to find resources. I need access to the places not just any one knows about. I have limited cash on hand, so I will be buying my parts one piece at a time. In some cases having to save up for a while. I would rather store my car, than just slap some piece of crap in it. Any books recommended would be helpful, I am fairly sharp, and retain things well. I just don’t have any experience here. Before you suggest it, I have the Chilton’s, as well as all the service and repair manuals from 1990-2001 on hand as well.

wall of text is never a good idea.

welcome to G2ic bud  you came to the right spot for your second gens!

for more info on that 3rd gen I’d suggest clubintegra.

you will get the best info here for thew 90-93 tho…

I have a 91 factory service manual that I will sell. It covers everything down to the electrical diagrams. I have no use for it as I own a 92 gsr.

Don’t be scared to ask questions. You should get a answer but you will always have the person who would rather rag on you instead of actually helping you. I see you are in Dallas. Not too far from me and really close to falls city which is where the black rock mountain bike park is. Love that place. Good luck with the cars and don’t be shy with the questions.

now that i read your intro, welcome.

your head is DEFINITELY in the right place and your headed in the right direction with your intentions. this place isnt bad with bashing people when they ask dumb questions so dont worry. like the guy above me said, dont be scared to ask questions. just search first… please… if you cant find it then go ahead and make a new thread or just bump an old, somewhat relevant thread.

if you want to know more, read the fsm. dont study it or anything but looking over common jobs or even more complex jobs will benefit you in the long run with trouble shooting. if you understand how it works then diagnosing what isnt working will be cake.

post up pics of your project please…

Welcome, Theres no such thing as a stupid question. This forum is one of the more helpful ones around and Im sure youll receive more help then harassment.
