about to replace my distributor o ring… any tips besides drawing a line so you can line the distributor up in the same spot?
Believe in the line.
Trust the line.
So unfortunately, the nozzle on my clear coat was clogged or just not functioning right (sputtering / propellant). Given the cure time/process, I just had to roll with what I had. I’m not happy with the result, but the goal was to have the rust gone. I still got some good practice with painting too so I would call it a win. I could be more careful with make sure the masking tape was sticking properly as you can see some red overspray on some of the black areas. Some rubbing compound should take care of that though. Amazingly, water beads up incredibly well on that matte-looking surface (it’s actually quite smooth despite how it looks).
It really makes you appreciate all the work that goes into body work. The last quote I got to repaint the car was $3,600. ![]()
The color match looks good! I think with some wet sanding and polishing you could get it to be pretty glossy.
Yup the color match is spot on and I love the paint’s spray nozzle - very smooth and consistent application. I think I just got a bad nozzle on this clear coat can. Boo.
