3rd gear grinds on up and down shift, why?

Have you tried adjusting your clutch cable first, to see if it’s just your clutch slipping? I thought my synchros were shot when i couldn’t get it into 3rd a few times, but then one day i couldn’t get it into 1st… that’s more like clutch problems. if your clutch cable has been adjusted all the way, then it’s probalby your gears/synchros. as before, make sure you get in contact with Dan (g2guru) g2guru@hotmail.com . He lives in Sherwood, he’ll save you TONS of money and IMO do a better job than any dealership. it’ll still be spendy, but when the time comes when you “need” to rebuild, he’s your best bet around Portland…

oh yeah: and if it’s your clutch, that’s alot cheaper than a tranny :slight_smile:

yeah, I have talked to G2guru, and will definitely consult him more when the time rolls aroud. The clutch is fairly new I know that, it’s an ACT clutch also. I’m meeting up with goldenchild sometime today or maybe this week, he might do some diagnostics for me. thanks for the info though,
