4 pt. roll bar (cage)

I’m with MrFrost on this one. I’ve heard too many people say that it is very easy to not turn and look because you can’t easily do so with a 4+ point harness. If a cop pulls you over, you can get a ticket because you are using illegal seatbelts for the street.

You shouldn’t be using a 4, 5, or 6 point harness on the street for that reason, and HENCE, should not be using more than a 4-point cage on a street driven car. The two go hand in hand, and neither the harness, nor the 4+ point cage are a good idea for the street.

It’s your life and I’m just being informative; not trying to tell you what to do.

the whole point of me asking where to get the 4 point roll bars is my intention to get a momo seat. And if i get a seat, i would want to get harnesses! So NO harnesses whatsoever are allowed for street use? Thanx for all your input guys.

Hmmmmm…
I can however see the blind spots very easily, it doesnt seem to effect them.
I have been approached by many officers, who have commented on the harness with, " what, are you some kind of street racer or something? " or the best one yet " What a pretty harness boy " )
But so far have not been told that they were illegal, or ticketed in any way…

I now have a 6pt welded in cage, and they havent commented on that…
Sometimes it even strikes conversation with law enforcement, who remember racing durring their youth, and want to know what I got under the hood to need a cage/seat/harness…

Dunno, maybe I got lucky a couple of times???

People do use 4 point harnesses on the street. I would just not suggest it from what has been suggested to me. If you would like to read more information on the topic, and a little flaming too, please read this:

I wrote some information in there along with a lot of SEASONED lapping/auto-crossing/wheel-to-wheel racers. Hopefully by reading that you can understand our case, and make an educated decision for yourself. Just please, read up on it thoroughly, before you actually purchase anything.

P.S. Please make sure the equipment you will be purchasing will be certified for safety in some legitimate way. No show belts please! Lives are at stake here.
