Does anyone know where i would be able to get one of these? Thank you for your help.
I believe AutoPower makes cages. We just took one out of a Civic that had thier logo on it. Thats about as much as I have for ya.

I believe it is 135 for the hoop, harness bar, 2- 60 inch for the rear bars, and baseplates…
( its WELD in for that price though )
That is where i got mine…

hey 4drb16 -
Do you think they would sell me just the two bars that extend into the front? I have the autopower bar that goes up and over behind the front seats and bolts infront of the rear seats ans then has two bars going back that mount on top of the wheel wells.
I would like two bars to run aloong the roof and then down right before the dash. Do you think they would have these?
Josh
Yes, they will…(800) 929-7188
I bought the 2: 8 Foot bars and base plates for the bars that follow the headliner and down through the rear speaker holes…
it was about 60 bucks…So I am sure they can sell you the tube, but probably dont have it bent already.
I had to go to my buddys fabrication shop to bend mine…
( i live close to them, so I went and picked them up…dont know how much shipping is…)
I just ordered my Autopower bar from Pegasus Racing. It was $378 plus shipping. Autopower bars are SCCA certified for Solo I or road racing if you get a cage.
Of course I have the smallest/weakest Autopower bar.
It’s super basic and I’m sure it doesn’t provide
much supporrt…I don’t want to try to roll my car to see
that it’s not sturdy enough! You can just tell it won’t support much.
So I’m going to have more added to it.

You should also try Kirk Racing. I’ve heard that they will fab up a lot of customizable bars if they have an experimental chassis (90-93 integra) to work on. They build by sanctioning bodies’ rules like the SCCA and NASA so they are conscience of that while they bend up the bars for the cage. If you do decide to customize a cage, find a builder who deals with those kind of rule books if you plan on tracking/lapping/auto-crossing your vehicle.
By having a cage does this put someone in a different catagory???
I don’t wanna loose cause I’m running with waaaaaay better cars.

For SOLO a cage that is stock or STS legal can only be bolted in. This may also be true for Street Prepared and other classes. A bar can be bolted or welded in stock or STS.

I was just referring to the fact that NASA and SCCA have safety rules and the cages have to be built to those specs. If you don’t have a satisfactory cage in the officials’ eyes, you won’t race. This isn’t usually a big deal in SOLOII so long as everything looks safe, and nothing looks abnormally dangerous. (I.E. - unpadded bars near your head, or a fire extinguisher mounted on the A-pillar).
so how big of a deal is it to install a roll cage… do things have to be cut and welded… i wanna see my options

It really depends on the cage. A 4-point from Autopower will most likely be a bolt in and shouldn’t require any special modification of your interior panel. You may have to trim some of the rear panels, but I don’t have any personal experience with it. They are designed to be allowed to be a bolt-in/out deal.
Anything more than a 4-point (e.g. 6-point custom cage) and you will most likely have to cut the dash and what-not. Unless you are roadracing/dragracing 12 second car, you won’t need such a cage.
Also note that you MUST not drive a car with a full cage (front beams) on the street. Track only. I would say that a simple Autopower crossbar would be fine, even offer more protection in a crash, but a full cage will cause more damage then good. Unless you plan on wearing a certified SCCA helmet everytime you drive your car.
Consider that before you buy anything.
I have no problems driving on the street…
Just curious as to why you think it would cause more damage on the street?

Driving with a 6-point on the street is not a good idea because you won’t be driving with a helmet. Metal bars in close proximity to your head are not a good idea. Some may argue that the plastic on the A-pillars is not as soft as the padding you can put on a rollbar, but when take into account that the bar with padding will be that much closer to your head, it is not a good idea.
Most people use 4, 5, or 6 point racing harnesses with rollcages which prevent them from being able to be thrown around the passenger compartment in case of an accident, but they ONLY use these while auto-crossing/tracking their vehicles which means they will also have a helmet on. With a 3-point harness and even a padded 6-point cage on the street, you still are putting yourself at an increase risk for injury because those bars are so much closer to your head without a helmet, and a 3-point harness allows you to move around enough to hit those bars.

I see the point about possibly hitting your head, with maybe a stock seat and a 3 point harness.
But with the 5 point harness I have, and the evo2 seat, I honestly dont think that my head would hit the cage, could it ?
( the seat doesnt move, at all…and the harness keeps me so tight, i can barely reach the cd player )
take a look:

…any thoughts, or comments???
5-point harnesses are not DOT approved. Probably because they make it very hard to check your blindspot while changing lanes.
