I wasnt even sure where to post this but i know there are tons of guys out there running and doing future installs of dsm 450’s, there is some confusion that i want to clear up, i hear many people saying you a dremel and blah blah and seems everyone uses the same install guide from hmt http://www.homemadeturbo.com/tech_projects/dsm_injectors/ , i just wanted to make it clear that absolutely no boring is necessary and no purchasing of any additional things are necessary for this install, all you need is to take out the stock metal ring under the injector seals coat your old injector seals in oil and tighten down the rail with the new injectors mounted in the rail, perfect seal works like a charm, maybe hmt should modify their install guide, just thought id clear this up
ok well im a noob to boost but i read that installing these injectors on a 92-93 your going to have to add resistors or resistor box??? (got that from the g2ic turbo guide) This is the first i heard about this, can someone clairfy this, and if it is true perhaps explain a little.
thanks an advance

yes u will deffinately have to do that on a 92 or 93. the dsm injectors are low resistance, if u dont have the resistors or resistor box you will fry them pretty much. obd0 honda/acura injectors are the same style so they are a direct plug and play injector for 90 and 91 integras. not that difficult from my understanding. i know theres a write up on here somewhere look around.
i just tried this and ended up breaking a stud off, should you tighten them down without the spacers? and when you tighten them down do you put the o ring on the injector or in the IM
Just so you know, I had to bore out the little plastic spacers to fit the DSM injectors. This was on a bone stock 92 integra. Not sure how the OP did it without boring it out.
So i went to the garage since I have a set of stock 92 integra injectors and a set of Evo injectors (that are the same physical size as the 450cc dsm). I measured both and it is clear that you need to bore the plastic piece on the integra injectors to get the dsm injectors to fit:
STOCK INTEGRA:
DSM:
hey thanks, yea i have a dremel, i just thought this would be easier… if it had worked
i steered away from dsm injectors because of this reason
This is pretty old but I just wanted to clarify. I bought brand new OEM Honda Injector Seals and put a a little bit of oil on them. Popped them into the stock rail first and then tighten down the injectors slowly and carefully. Worked like a charm. I just did it again when I rebuilt the motor this past winter.
Polska11111’s measurement are most definitely accurate but simply using some oil did the trick for me.
fits in just fine with a little oil no boring needed. mine popped right in everytime without fail.
Im assuming you guys are just leaving the plastic ring out then. It is hard plastic that will not fit with a little oil. I have the plastic ring as well as rubber o rings to seal the injectors into the intake manifold.
