Ok i have a problem i got my 5 lug conversion but its a JDM 5 lug of a ITR. The problem is that the HUB takes a biger size axel then my current DA hub. I know i have to press out the hub and machine it to fit in my DA spindle the problem is what axel do i use. Would it be easyier to buy 2 new USDM ITR hubs or are the 97 and up prelude hub;s the same as the ITR. I hope the prelude hub is the same cause i can get them cheap from honda sense i have hook up there but if i have to use the USDM ITR hub i will be screwed sense i don’t have a frend that works at ACURA.
if u searched… u might hav found this…
http://www.jarofbees.com/tech/da_5lug/
that is a complete write up on how to make it work on a DA chassis the RIGHT way.
Well if you would have read the write up you would know that he dosent mention nothing about the problem i talking about sense his suspension is USDM. I guess sense your a know it you din’t see that.

umm dood… “sense yer a dumbass” and no, " sense imma know it" i can’t read what u wrote. what difference does it make if his suspension is JDM or USDM? it all bolts up regardless. i say again, if u want 5 lug THE RIGHT WAY. do what Ryan K did. even Daniel ( battlecat) re did his the same as Ryan K. machine the hubs to work with the DA knuckle. and the last time i checked, USDM and JDM ITR knuckle should be the same, are u sure you got the right parts? and go back to school becuase you need to polish up on your spelling. and if u need to continue this discussion… bring it. =)
yea man do it the way Ryan K did… thats the way i did it and im loving it… 5 lug rules:D
Guys i think he’s talking about the axle not fitting the hub, not the hub not fitting the knuckle.
Thank you jonsteR some one finaly see’s what im talking about. I already took car of the problem while i was picking up my ADVANS RC today at the same shop i got my 5 lug from also. I showed him my problem and he gave me the jdm ITR axels all i have to do now is take them to get rebuilt but i have to take in my old driver side axel cause they will need to use the male iner joint from my DA axel sense the female DC2 iner joint won’t work.
I know this is an old post but what is the offset fir the advan wheels you have? just curious.thanks
mike.
I did not see this till today so sorry for the late reply. The wheels are 17" with a bolt partern of 5 X114.3.
BTW those Advans are for sale
TTT.
So in conclusion, JDM 5 lug needs the JDM ITR axles as well converted over?
Yes if you use the jdm ITR you WILL need the 36mm ITR axels. I should also add that these axels are heavy dutty. I did my 5 lug conversion 5 years ago and I’m still on the same set of axels.
BTW: if you use the CTR suspension you can run the 32mm axels cuase the CTR also runs on 32mm
for future reference if some one else has this problem: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2186203
i think the link to ryan ks is no good anymore, unless hes obsessed with bees and decided to use that as some sort of supasecret codes.
ok, the jdm ITR 5 lug hub is 36mm. whats the size of the usdm ITR hub then?
was ryan k using usdm huds? because he didnt mention anything about axles…
also can i just press in the rear ITR (usdm) hub onto the stock DAs rear or would it have to be machined? 1 more question, would the ITR rear rotors clear the setting placment of the rear caliper?..
sorry for these “dumb” questions but i just want to clear some questions i have for this…

JDM ITR hubs are 36mm
USDM ITR and CTR are 32mm
I’m pretty sure Ryan was using a USDM 32mm hub since he mentioned nothing of it.
For the rears just bolt up the complete ITR trailing arm but use the DA conpensator arm.
^^^i know that the rear trailing arms bolt right up, but i guess i’m trying to find a cheaper way for the rear:shrug:…
thanx for the feedback…
to bump up an old thread, the way I do it with the 36mm hubs is by going to an axle shop and getting 98+ prelude outer pieces and then putting it on the stock da axle, all you need is a hammer to get them apart!
did u use the jdm itr front knuckles or that da ones ???
DA, which you need to machine the hubs to work. Some people on here say its not needed but they are the JDM fanbois. If you want to do it correctly you must machine and the hubs and use the DA knuckles/spindles.
