6x9s in a DA?

I’ve got a nice pair of clarion srr6985s which i purchased awhile back for my db1

now i’ve been forced to rock a da9… would LOVE to keep the speakers but im just wondering how feasible this option is and if the mods are worth it.

i’d like to see some pics of things people have done mounting 6x9s in das… and have some opinioins :corn:

if not i guess ill just trade em in and get a set of 6.5"s and be done with it :baby:

planning to get an amp and just boost the speakers anyways so… watcha think?:ok:

Most people put 6x9’s in the removable rear shelf (the piece separating the trunk from the pass compartment next to the hatch)

Stick to the oem size, or make a custom enclosure to house them in… turning the hatch cover into a speaker holder would be a decent idea if it was done cleanly. But id rather have a removable hatch cover vs having 6x9s in the car.

I agree but granted it’s only 4 speaker wires to disconnect if you wanted to remove it

i guess the difference between a good 6.5" speaker and my 6x9s is probably very little and not worth the hastle haha
and it def would be a pain in the butt to have to disconnect the speakers every time i wanna use the hatch xD

Get a good set of 6.5" and then stuff the crap out of the rear speaker pods with polyfil. It’ll make a difference in the low end sound of those rear 6.5"s. Dustin, I did that in my old teg do you recall how good those sounded even off an amp?

They sounded good

i didnt want to use my hatch cover as a speaker holder and plus i don tthink it would sound good. my friend made the rear arm rest into some pods

Put the stock size speakers in… why cut up a panel to put in the wrong speakers? it will look like shit
