Hey guys, I tried searching for “6x9” and “rear” but found nothing, so my question is…do 6x9’s fit in the rear? I haven’t even looked yet, but I was just wondering…also, what size are the speakers in the front/rear?
Also, did you know that 1990-1993 Acura Integras are the #1 sound responding vehicles in the world due to their interior design? Preetty cool eh?
A friend of mine told me…very reliable source. He knows anything about everything and everything about anything
Seriously though, they’re the #1 sound responding vehicles because of their interior design! I don’t want to be weighed down so I’m thinking about 2 8" subs I have laying around…haha. Apparently he will make one 8 sound like 2 12’s in a G2 ;]
I’ve been told the exact same thing. A tech from SteroWest out here in Nebraska said he couldnt believe what he heard.
I have a 10" Orian sub in a sealed box powerd by a 140 watt sony amp.
I must say Im very pleased with the way it sounds. No trunk fart, very crisp. Oh and its a 90/gs/172k…5peed…and she’s Black:naughty:

Go sealed box. I have a 10" kicker solobaric sealed in my teg and it sounds great. the sound is very tight and it can hit pretty hard for being a 10".

still depends on how much money, how much power, what subs. id still go sealed. you just need more power to get louder. say, 300rms. with a bandpass, youd only need 150-200rms, but itll sound crappier. this is all really general
a friend of mine told me more or less what you just said. he said if i wanna go sealed im gonna need more power to push the sub. my brother knows a guy with 2 kicker subs (older model i.e '98-99) in a ported box. He has this setup in a 93 accord. If you’ve never been inside that year accord, they have a foldable armrest in the back seat. what this guy did was bore a hole in the paneling behind the armrest and placed the port for the sub in that opening. my brother said that box hit so hard as compared to his (my bro) and he who has almost the same equipment as him (same subs, ported box, same power amps. what i thought about doing was tryin to find another rear deck for my sedan (where the rear speakers and 3rd brake light is) and bore a whole in it and try to copy cat my brothers friend set-up. But like you said, it all comes down to money. Thanks for the info boss.
making a hole really isnt necessary. i think the difference is the kind of car. did they both have accords? all you have to do is lower the seat to see the difference. it isnt that much different. lots of factors…
just make sure your pushing at least 300rms (both amp and sub) and youll be fine.
from my experience a ported box is going to hit deeper but more “sloppy”. my solobaric is sealed and it is very tight, very good for rock music. i wouldn’t suggest a solobaric if your gonna go ported box because they arent designed for ported enclosures. i’d get some other subs like JL’s and put them in a ported box if thats what your gonna do. i’m no expert but thats what i’ve seen over the years.
thats true in that whatever the port is tuned at, it will be louder at that frequency (hence sounding louder), but a sealed box can also be tuned to that frequency. so its not necessarily ‘deeper’, but given the same sub and power but in different boxes, the ported box will be a few db louder in that certain frequency. the sealed box will need more power to reach that same level, but the overall sound quality will be better because the frequency response curve will be flatter.
in other words, the ported box will have a volume spike in just the lower frequency, then the rest will slope down. the sealed box’s volume is relatively the same for most of the frequency range (flatter) which typically means better sound quality. with the bandpass design, the low freq. is really high, and the rest slopes down very steeply, typically producing poorer quality but able to boom the low notes loudly.
hope this makes sense somewhat. you can kinda relate it to dynograph with a new header- the torque response is more linear/flatter throughout the whole powerband, it doesnt just spike at certain areas.
Hey yea. I got sum 6x9 in my hatchback. All you have to do is get like a mider saw i think it is and use the lil template that they give you with the speakers and cut them out. Its not that hard and they look coo. If you need help just E-mail me @ chefboyardee2o8@hotmail.com
