Well Im upgrading my sub from a rockford fosgate punch 8" to a 12" and I was wondering what you guys thought would be the best way to incorporate the 8" back into the system. As in…
Is there any way to mount and use this 8" speaker for midrange? Maybe using a signal from the crossovers for my fronts? or possibly a second sub working simultaneously?
My amp is the gutless wonder Alpine flex 5, I have clarion pro audio components in the front and jl audio coaxials with the tweeters deleted in the rear. Basically I am wondering how any of you would deal with this situation.
I personally would not go with 8’s for midrange. I would try to go with 6.5 midbass for the midrange because 8’s will still require an amp to sound decent. If you are settled on them then what I would do is pop holes in the trunk lid and ghetto style baby. GL with your decision.
Thanks for the reply. I do have 6.5’s in the front for mid bass and 6.5’s in the rear as well…I was just wondering if I could use the 8" somewhere…
What do you mean pop holes in the trunk?
Any other ideas to incorporate a single 8" into my system?
I assumed that your integra was a 2 door hatch. If yours is the sedan than I would probably not waste the time installing it. Just stick with what you got because if you really want bass, then you should just upgrade your amp and sub to some higher quality equipments.
you’re probably going to have to do some custom fiberglassing to the front door panels if you wanted to mount it in that location.
i was looking at a set of dynaudio components a long long time ago that used an 8" mid.
I only have one 8" woofer so I was thinking of somehow mounting it centered somewhere and just one.
Is there any way to like…hook up 1 additional 8" speaker to an already exsisting pro audio crossover system? Can I just put the + from one side of the midrange output and the - to th other or something? lol I know nothing about this obviously…Its amazing I have installed so many damned car stereos with knowing so little.
So there is no way to maybe add a crossover to the subwoofer output and like…Use the 8" for the high and tight (bass) and the 12 for the loose and low? (Thats professional high end car audio speak there) lol
Sell the 8" and put the money towards a better amp. 94
the man speaks the truth…
I just installed a 12"Clarion sub and everything works great but…After trying 3 different subs I can tell my amp is definatly the weakest link here.
I think this Dub-step I’ve been listening to is going to blow that little thing up.
Should I try and find an amp just for the sub or for another 5 channel? Any recommendations for a unit or brand I should stick to? Budget would be up to $300 used.
