90'-91' engine " hesitation"

hum diddily. I just replaced my o2 sensor 3 months ago but yet i still get some hesitation. I personally think its my bad clutch. again about the ac, my teg is a slug with it on. From a stop its like im driving a bus. But off, its just fine.

its rather easy, actually to put a timing belt off a tooth. Some times you have to rotate the crank slightly before the belt will slip onto the cam sprockets. Otherwise it may be “easier” to pop it on 1 tooth over.

I always make sure i mark the belt i take off to the sprockets and crank and line the new one up with the old to make NO mistake.

My mother’s civic had an overheating problem once that somhow propagated a true backfiring problem. The car would work good somtimes, the next time it wouldn’t start at all… couldn’t find the problem for ANYTHING. Finally took it to a mechanic (i dont’ believe in mechanics) and he said the belt was off a tooth. HEY…?? I tried to get him to explain how it could have slipped a tooth and he tried to say I put it on wrong, in not so many words.

Two weeks later it was running like crap AGAIN. I opened er up with my new “insight” and it was off a tooth again. I put a new belt on this time (the other must must have been stretched or somthing after the first slip) and it worked perfect forever…until i swapped out that d1.5 for a d16z6.

I can’t remember why i decided to share all this, but it sure was nice to get it off my chest -goodnight.

will a bad O2 sensor give horrible gas mileage???

No but a timing belt that has slipped a tooth will…
