Does anyone know what kind of front lip the black integra has? Looks similar to a spoon replica, but I’m not sure.
'90-'91 Factory Optional Front Lip…very rare, hold on to that…otherwise just came with a cheap plastic lip about 1 1/2 inches all the way around…
yezzir…oem optional
Does anyone know of a place that does a knock off of it? I’d like to swap my 93 front for a 91 & put this lip on it. I have a wreaked-ass type R lip on it. If anyone wants to trade a 90-91 w/ the lip on it, I’ll pay for shippin to you, if you do the same.
:getsome: :manual:
Kinda kidding, but if someone offers, I may jump on it.
'92/'93 front bumper covers are different than '90/'91…so that lip won’t fit if you do that.

I think the OP knows that that’s why he said he’ll swap a 93 bumper to a 91 so he can put on the “knock off” lip.
There was a knockoff available, not sure if they are anymore.

No one will give up the lip for a trade. Only way I see you getting hold of one id finding a copy or some one that wrecked there car and will sell it.
Yeah, I know. I was just joking. No one would want my warped bumper or busted lip anyway. I really would like to get this lip/ bumper combo though.
If anybody has a link or site to that supposed copy I’d appreciate it.

Found the Connection
Hey guys,
As you know I started this thread to find out what kind of lip it is. I’ve searched this site for any threads regarding the 90-91 optional lip and found a user named macross who’s located in LA, which was good news for me. I picked up the lip from him and it fits like a glove. It is made out of fiberglass, not polyurethane which is stronger and more flexible, but it’s pretty good quality fiberglass. It’s flexible.
Sorry about the quality, it was taken from my cellphone.
Damn that’s tight! Yeah, I just got in contact w/ him.
I love this front lip; so much so that I’m swappin my 93 front & all! Can’t wait to here back about it.
xiingen- I have DC2 skirts on my DA right now. I’m kinda concerned about height. How much does the lip add compared to stock? the DC2 skirts don’t really add too much, but I definetly would prefer my front to be level or a little lower than the sides.
Thanks for the help. :getsome: :manual:
When I installed this lip, I removed the original lip. What’s crazy is that with the new lip installed, it’s higher off the ground than the original. I used to scape my old lip like crazy on my driveway, but with this lip I don’t scrape anymore! It’s hard to imagine but this lip made it less of a hassle to drive through dips. Hope this helps.
I’ll try and post a side view picture of my car with my sideskirts. When I look at my profile view, it seems that the front lip is a little higher off the ground than my sideskirts, it’s not completely level.
What kinda skirts?
If it’s too high, then I’ll put a 91 USDM lip on the optional lip. I’ve heard of people on here doin’ it. My Type R lip is 5 1/4’’ off the ground (ridin’ on 1.75drop Neuspeeds) so as long as it’ll kinda matches this height it’ll be fine. I expect a OEM kit to be somewhat higher than an aftermarket lip anyway.
The pics on the “post up your rare parts” thread in General Discussion forum (pg 16 & 18, & maybe 19) show that it flares down a bit at the ends. Plus w/ the optional skirts it seems OK to me. the DC2 skirts aren’t too much lower than the optional ones, (if not the same) so it should be ok.
Thanks for your help. :getsome: :manual:
Better pictures of the replica lip painted and installed:

THANKS MAN!!! You’ve been a great help as always! Answered my question. My conclusion is that it should look awesome.
What skirts are those? Is that yours? Looks amazing man! Hope I can get mine that nice soon.

Those are Mugen replica sides, but I don’t know which particular brand they are (VIS, GTP, etc.). They’re at least a few years old so they may or may not be available anymore, but I know for sure you can find Mugen replica sides these days.
Glad I could help out.
EDIT: Not mine, a good friend’s car. He’s the guy that got me into DAs and onto G2IC all those years ago. His screen name is DA Kine, and he still pops up from time to time, though not so often anymore.
Hey thats my black DA I really love that lip if it wasn’t for that one I would have prolly switched over to a 92-93 bumper.
Hey d. btw what happened to your monthly magazine shoots on your page? I use to look forward to reading those every month.
I really wanted to keep them going, but even toward the end of 2006 I was getting too busy to keep up with doing them every month. November was a scramble to finish and December was actually a week or two late, and by the time I finished it January was already coming up. Rather than put out half ass stuff, I figured it would be best to maybe do them every other month in 2007, or even every 3rd month. Most of the work is writing the story and formatting the page, but it was still a considerable amount of time to arrange and shoot the cars and get all of the shots sorted and edited. I moved in late January, which just threw my life into busy town for pretty much all of Februrary and I literally didn’t shoot anything for like a month and a half. Sooooo, I made the decision around that time that since I had stopped at a decent point (the end of 2006) it would be best to just put the features on hiatus until things settled down. Well, now things are settled down but with me going back to school in the fall, I definately wouldn’t be able to keep up with features so they probably aren’t coming back any time soon. I still shoot when I can and I’ll continue to add content as I used to, but I won’t be doing any feature stories or pages anymore unfortunately.
Thanks for the words though, it still doesn’t register to me that people actually give a shit what goes on in the closed minded little world I call my website. The site started as a sort of personal photobucket and every bit of acknowledgment I’ve gotten for it has been a really awesome bonus.
