Hello,
I have a 92 GSR engine with of course a 92 gsr aftermarket intake installed.
Without much thought and on an impulse i bought a port matched same brand after-market Throttle Body, BUT Its specifically for a 94-01 GSR.
The only initial HUGE difference in the two Throttle bodies, upon visual inspection is the location of the IACV.
The 92-93 GSR IACV is installed on the back side of the intake. The 94-01 IACV looks like or actually mounts to the underside or bottom of the actual Throttle body. Correct?
now for the couple of questions i have.
Do i even need to run coolant to throttle body? Can i just not even worry about installing a 94-01 IACV to the bottom of the TB. i have seen some other aftermarket TB’s that dont even have coolant line pipes.
Does coolant run to the throttle body for any specific reason?
Can i just source a 94-01 IACV and install it on the bottom or 6 o’clock position on the TB, and re-route or modify the coolant hoses to hook-up to the new IACV location?
