90 Integra b18 w/H22a Head

Im racing in a 1990 Acura Integra GS and have saved about 5 Grand for under the hood goodies. Ive been looking at Turbo Kits but without V-Tec i dont really see the point in investing. I would love a V-tec and i was searching on E-bay and found a H22a V-Tec Head which was flawless and unassembled. I would love to turn my car into a Hybrid, right now its a b18a DOHC, so would that work? any thoughts on different heads that would work? if it does, thats a ****en Hybrid if I ever seen or heard of one!

By the way I love this **** guys, The whole fact that you guys have a club for Cars like mines. Thats ****en badass!?!?

Never heard of such a thing. My instincts tell me that it will not fit. Other heads, well…basically any b series head will fit on to your b18a (with minor modification).

There is no way that head will fit on your b18a. But, if you want to swap an entire h22a engine and tranny into your car that is doable for the amount of money you’ve got to invest. Now, what do you mean a turbo is pointless without vtec? Most people will say that nonvtec engines are better for turbo. By the way, what type of racing are you doing? 1/4 mile, autocrossing, stop light to stop light?

5 grand can get you a 1.8 GSR motor in your car…

OR EVEN BETTER

a newer LS motor (97-up), with a turbo KIT…

from what I hear, and please don’t quote me on this cuz I’m pretty much talking out my A$$ on this, I’ve heard that with ls/vtech you can easily pull on gsr’s freeway and strip. This however isn’t just what I heard it’s what I saw, I two friends with ls/vtech one with gsr head and the other with a b16a head, the guy with the b16a head pulled away on the freeway from the one with the gsr head. So just food for thought I guess.

well what you saw is what you saw…and iftheone with the B16 head pull off the other with the GSR head…then i would guest his LS/VTEC was done properly…andit all depends onthe modifications done to the engine.

i have the LS/VTEC with the 94 GSR head…and i pull of GSR 92-93, and 94 n’ up.

i have yet to race a LS/VTEC witha B16 head…but from research, i notice the one with the GSR head is faster…

remember ths is not a simple swap…the engine wouldhave to be built properly…if not, you will loose power.
