I just purchased the smoked out black 1-piece headlights from ebay, I am also going to purchase a aftermarket HID kit that i’m going to install at the same time, my question is would doing the 9004-9007 conversion yield a brighter light, or would it be the same no matter what with HID’s?
I am thinking it would be the same. The difference would be the way the bulb attaches to the housing. You would have to mod the housing the same way you would mod the housing when switching from a 9004 to a 9007.
I don’t think the bulbs are different (non hid) other than the lumen output and plug configuration.
I would say, of your going to buy housings that use 9004 bulbs, and your wanting to get a hid kit for them, go get a 9004 hid kit. Remember to make sure your getting a hid kit that has high beams, non-hid or adjustable hids for high beam. Unless you don’t care about passing safety inspections. Then again, if I remember correctly, HIDs are not legal on our cars (didn’t come with them) so I would guess that is a moot point. Of course if you want to try to sneak by, get the lo/hi beam hids.
i was thinkin of gettin an hid kit also but i heard the projectors just like the halos will melti unoo if this is true thow
i thuaght a couple of people had said those black housing ones are made for 9007’s??and that they have it stamped on the headlight??
Yea the Ebay non projector one’s are actually made to house 9007’s, Just swap the wires around.
Mild modification’s had to be made to get my 9004 HID kit to fit in the titanium housed ones… the 9007’s should fit perfectly.
