9004 to H4: Do I need relays?

As the title suggests…

Do I need to install relays when I switch my 9004 stock bulbs and sockets to H4?

I’ve read a lot about this but because my JDM’s didn’t come with any H4 sockets at all Im confused about what I have to do.

Any help is appreciated thanks.

Yeah i’ve researched this quite a bit. Its not so cut and dry though. Lots of 9004-9007. Lots of 9006HID in JDM. Lots of USDM to JDM. but not a lot regarding 9004 to JDM H4. (Especially in cases where people have no bulbs or harnesses included with his JDM lights like me) Relys, no relays. It gets a bit confusing.

Anyway…off to electrical.
