91 GS sluggish build

those calipers are gorgeous! Nice work man

Did the ABS system work while it was on the car? Any plans with the ABS parts? I am trying to restore my GS-R and I want to have working ABS.

All braking functions worked when I had the car on the road, minus the stuck LF caliper. I’m currently using the removed lines to use as reference for routing my new lines, but when that is done I was planning to see if anyone would purchase them if not I would just send them to scrap

I have a set of XSi H emblems if you want to buy

Yeah if you could pm me some pictures or just reply to the thread with some id be interested .

I’m interested in purchasing any abs parts that function correctly. No rush right now. I’m taking my time to restore my gs-r.

I’m one of those that oftentimes thinks OEM headlights look better than JDM 1-Pieces.

Only thing I would do is pull the corner light, pull the reflector…and then use the exact same decal film on them. Think it would look great.

If you really want 1Pieces, make me an offer on mine, including your stockers. They have been opened, cleaned and resealed. No cracks or broken tabs.

My car hasn’t been driven in two years…might as well!

Ok sounds good! let me know what parts you are looking for ill send you pictures so you can see the condition of what i can find

Awesome! i would definitely be interested , however i am going to be putting $ towards a set of koni/GC’s soon, if you still have them in the later future i would be interested!

Little update: my 45 degree fitting for my oil pressure gauge came in, so I was able to fit it to the sandwich adapter, and attach my oil pressure sensor, which cleared the coolant pipe, and clears my intake manifold. My Russell stainless flex hoses came in as well, as well as my new Eastwood brake bending pliers. Will get some pictures up soon! Still waiting for my traction bar to come in, should be arriving tomorrow

So after a long day today, finally finished the remaining brake lines, installed my front stainless russell hoses, and bled my brakes.

excuse the messy wires, i was looking for a short (my dmm was sparking on the battery terminals, turns out somebody had used it the other day and melted the 10a internal fuse , so i went chasing for nothing ) ((more on that later))

So everything all back together and i went to go turn the key. nothing…

tore my wire loom apart (i had trimmed out some wiring from the ABS , figured i might have knicked a wire somewhere)

pulled up the carpet and checked the wiring i removed from the abs module… nothing out of the ordinary…

turns out, the thick wire that goes from the battery terminal, to the fusebox on the strut tower , the terminal had bent and lost contact…
with that situated , turn of the key and it fired right up. still have to tinker with the idle and throttle adjustment… as well as maybe cleaning out the iacv , as after idling for a while, it started jumping from about 1500 to 1000 or so constantly.

also here are my gauges installed

and i think ill installed my ktuned traction bar after i get it registered and driving.

looking rad man

Thanks! gave it a nice cleaning inside and out today , installed my mudflaps and will most likely be registering it as soon as i get back from Florida next weekned.

Registered the teg as an antique this past week. My Odyssey battery came in, with bracket, however it required removal of the radiator and fan, to drill into place. Radiator and fan fit right back into place after install. mocked up my cables, and made sure it starts up, i think i might get some new Cables, although the 91 has that extra wire and fuse on the positive side for the hazards i believe, anyone whos done a battery relocation gotten around that??

Installed my front lip , since my car is originally a 91, when i did the 92-93 bumper swap, i never got a oem Lower lip, which made the front end look like it was missing something. Along with the bumper swap, i never had a front plate bracket, and i didnt want to drill into the bumper, or ziptie the plate on the lower air duct, So i picked up a black bracket on Amazon, along with using some leftover nuts and bolts, with a small strip of sheet metal, drilled through the sheet metal, and attached the bracket and sheet metal together through the bumper, with some foam insulation strips between. Bracket also tilts to desire which is nice.

Bled the cooling system, and took it for a 6 mile road test , chatted at idle with a friend for 5 or 10 minutes and when i got back home the temperature gauge never moved which felt very satisfying.
Took it up to 6000rpm in first gear and after the shift i felt like the clutch was still hanging up or slipping, turned out i just shifted 1-4 … Time to put in those shifter bushings

Which lip is that?

How’s that K-Tuned traction bar? i’m thinking about getting one.

I have yet to install it. I just wanted to check how the car had driven before I put it under the knife again, I will be installing it soon, as I need to install a new exhaust manifold.

It is a JDP replica for the 92/93 , just scored it on eBay as most of my previous Honda lips get damaged on new England roads, it wouldn’t be cost effective to spend the big bucks on a real JDP one

Been pretty dormant for a while, Teg is away for the winter, not much new to post about it, did install Type R linkage and Bushings, Energy bushings on my stock linkage didn’t fix the slop.
Did get some new wheels through my work for a price that was too good to turn down, Tyres are pretty meaty and the wheel specs are pretty aggressive, Had to roll and semi-pull my fenders for clearance, and only on spirited drives taking a hard turn up or down a hill the loaded corner barely rubs.

This guy is absorbing most of my funds right now, and as I am on vacation next week , will be hopefully receiving a new clutch and flywheel , but not getting the Thermal R&D exhaust as it is backordered and I was told after ordering , wouldn’t ship for 2-3 weeks!
Here’s some pictures, looking for ideas if I should do the SiR style bumpers with moldings and thin SiR lip or not, any other Aero/Ext mods I’m really interested in everyone’s thoughts
