91 gs wont start

well i just bought a 91 gs and i love it. BUT… every now and then it wouldnt start, it would turn over but there was no spark going into the plugs or out of the dist, well all i did was wait a bit, or pop the hood and fiddle and it would always end up startin. Well i was going to a family dinner and i stopped at my boys house, I when i left i got into my car same thing it wouldnt start, so i do whatever, but i noticed that this time my tach didnt move at all (it used to jump up and down a bit when i tried to start it the other times). well i get it flatbedded to a shop, theytry new wires (pointless cause i told em there is no spark comin out of the cap), then they suggest for me to buy a new ignitor module, well i fork out the $105 for it and it still wont start, cranks but no spark, the dist cap is new and the rotor is fine. so what do i do:confused:, cause i need a car and this one aint doin me too much use in my garage.

thanks

check your main fuel relay, and also run a SEARCH, as this topic has come up a million and one times in recent days. There will be plenty of info around for you. The most common one is the Main Fuel Relay though, especially in warmer weather.

sounds like a bad starter…

My car did that for awhile…I changed out the ignition coil, the ignitor module, the battery, the alternator…only to find out the only thing left in the “electrical system” that I didn’t change, which happens to be ba a 12 year old starter went bad. I swapped it out last week and the car started right up, and it runs much quieter as well. It’ll cost about $120 for a rebuilt one.

Good Luck,
